Piper' POV

Hagrid took us to the Leaky Cauldron to stay for a few days, get our Hogwarts stuff, and get used to the wizard lifestyle. we were sitting at one of the tables on the third day when Annabeth decided that we needed to get our school stuff today. she was right, i guess: we had been procrastinating for three days and needed to get our stuff.

We had not really spent much time exploring DIagon Alley yet; we thought that it was about time, so we would spend that day doig just that: shopping.

after breakfast, we went out back to the brick wall and got into Diagon Alley. When the wall opened into a door, we kind of just stood there and stared. Behind me, Nico pushed Annabeth first into the crowded street; i guess she's leading haha. so we all followed behind her

i was amazed as we walked down the street. the note from Hagrid had said to go to the bank, Gringotts, first. so Annabeth led us down the street until we saw a large building.

"why don't we try there?" i suggested, "looks the most bank-like that I have seen."

Annabeth nodded, "sure"

she headed in the direction of the building and we followed. as we entered Grigotts, we opened the front door and walked up to the end of the hall; looks like it had gone through recent renovataions or something.

i found myself glad that Annabeth liked to be in control now. i am not a big fan of just marching up to strangers and asking random questions; but there she went, right up to the counter and asked,

"Chiron's vault please." and waited for his response.

'the man looked at her questioningly, 'do you have your key ma'am?"

" key?'she said, confused, "what key?"

"Oh...."i heard from behind us,

i tured and saw Nico holding a golden key. "this one?" he asked quietly

"yes, that would be it." said the man, and he reached forward and grabbed the key.

i looked at NIco, "why exactly did you have that?"

"i don't know. before we left CHiron gave it to me before we left." he said

When we left, I was trying not to be sick; it was like reliving ridiing on festus. I tried to stand up without losing my breakfast, but it was not easy, let me tell you.

"okay." Annabeht said loudly, "we should split up and each group take a part of the list and buy it for everyone."

"Hello! Almost puking up my lungs here! give me a second geez"! i thought

but she obviously didn't hear my thoughts and split us into groups: Annabeth and Clarisse, the stolls, and Nico and I.

Nico was at least kind eough to wait a minute for me to catch my breath and not die.
after a minute, we headed off to "flourish and blotts" whatever that was.

we headed down the road looking at shop signs in order to find the right store. we finally found it and went inside. as we were looking at the list, Nico mentioned

"why exactly do we need to learn this stuff?" he asked. "i mean, we aren't wizards; and we are getting the same books as people that have been going ot this school for six years"

"well" i began, "Chiron said that, depending on us as individuals, the blessing from Lady Hecate, we might be able to perform magic or not.

"what do you mean?"

"i mean: Chiron had Lady Hecate bless us, she didn't fully bless us because she doesn't believe that we should be as powerful as the wizards. so her partial blessing will either work or not work, depending on our aura. There are six of us and probably only a few of us, if any, will be able to perform spells." i explained.

Nico still looked kind of confused, but he nodded like he understood, so i let it be.

After we got enough books for everyone--why did we agree to this?--we headed back to the Leaky Cauldron. we could hardly see where we were going and at random times we ran into things, but we agreed not to mention it.
