« EDITED »Like any other week, Jackson was lazing around at THiS KIM's COFFEE SHOP that Saturday. The excuse to his arrival always being: 'he was just dropping by'.
Business had been surprisingly slow so, instead of Jin throwing Jackson out for 'being a distraction to workers' (even though it was only him and Namjoon), Seokjin let him and Namjoon chat when the co-owner had nothing better to do.
"So you knew Mark when you were a kid?" Jackson asked. Namjoon nodded slowly.
"Well, not really. He was just there for a bit and he didn't know a word of Korean so I just - kinda - saw him a few times with this guy, Moon Joonhwi, that always looked annoyed and detested speaking Korean for some reason," Namjoon explained. Jackson hummed, gasping when he recognized the mentioned name.
"Do you mean: Mainland actor, Wen Junhui, that's - like - really underrated?"
"I suppose so," Namjoon muttered, wiping down his workspace idly. "He hung out right outside of the coffee shop, the summer we first opened, with a kid named Minghao; a weird pair those two."
"He was a normal human being once?"
"Yes, just like Seokjin was a kid once."
"This is too much to process. I can't imagine either of those!" Jackson exclaimed.
"Jun even had a normal job," Namjoon added. Jackson hid his head in his folded arms.
"Stop! How is that even possible?" The co-owner of the coffee shop only laughed at Jackson, moving away for five minutes after Jin yelled a customer's order. "So why was Mark here in the first place?" Namjoon shrugged with one shoulder.
"His parents had sent him down for the summer to stay with his-" the ebony haired male's words drifted off as he stared at the entrance, motioning to where he was focusing on after a moment of silence passed. Jackson shifted on the bar stool he was sat on.
Mark looked dead.
Instead of the normal 'old jeans and a decent t-shirt', he was wearing basketball shorts and a shirt almost four sizes too big. Jackson watched as the older male shuffled to the wall of books. He took only a minute, finger grazing the spines of each book before pulling one out and sitting down at their table. He opened the book to - what Jackson guessed - the first page, and scanned the room.
A customer stared at Jin while he stared at Namjoon who was staring at Jackson who had been staring at Mark for a while now and Mark finally noticed Jackson so he motioned for the younger male to come to their table. Then Jackson was staring at Namjoon, who was staring at a metal fork he'd managed to somehow break and Jin was ranting to the helpless customer because his lover was "really fucking dumb" and then Mark was confused and the customer was confused and the coffee shop was confused and there was this one couple at the very back that just didn't know what happened a second ago but they honestly never knew what was going on and Namjoon was about to spill tea but he found out it was actually coffee and he was confused too.Jin was rethinking his life choices and Jackson turned to Mark and Mark was just glancing all around the place and Jackson saw a butterfly but he liked moths now so... Mark was staring at Jackson and Jackson started staring at Mark again before walking over to the table and sitting opposite of him.
"What cat pissed in your soup?"
"I don't think that's the right-" The brunette shrugged and Mark decided to not finish his sentence.
