After staying at the hospital for a few hours, and after being assured that Phil is going to recover well and after making sure Dan was alright, I finally left the hospital and headed straight home. Even though my house was literally 10 minutes away just by walking, I was too exhausted and had a cab drop me off.
As soon as I got out of the cab I ran straight into the house, making sure I didn't end up coming face to face with Avery, especially after being told the truth about her.
I opened the door and closed it behind me. My mom and dad were in the living room, and I could tell they were waiting for me to come back home.
I didn't even get a 'hello' or a 'glad you're okay' from them.
"Tell me everything." Mom told me. "Why Avery lied to us and who these boys were you went to the hospital with."
"They're just two people trying to fit in by acting tough." I explained. "It's true they have committed crimes but according to Dan, those days are over. Now somebody is pretending to be a criminal and frame them for it."
"And why is Avery being all over dramatic and why did she lie?" Mom asked.
"Because she wants you guys to believe that I'm hanging out with two troublemakers." I stated. "When really, they're just two people struggling now."
"Why would they be struggling?" Mom asked.
"Apparently Dan and Phil are boyfriends and that was the reason they started acting tough, so nobody could notice who they really were."
"How did Phil get rushed to the hospital?" Mom asked.
"Apparently one of the actual tough guys of the school saw them both holding hands and confronted them. They then began chasing them and throwing rocks at them, one of them hit the back of Phil's head." I explained. My mom just shook her head.
"This isn't right, this shouldn't be happening." My mom said. "We were told this town was amazing. A little run down but overall a great town."
"I refused to believe that the moment I walked into school." I responded. "Especially after Dan told me about a club the entire school made against the two of them."
"That's almost discrimination!" She exclaimed.
"No kidding." I responded. "And I don't even call it a club, it's almost like a cult, and Avery tried sucking me into it!"
"We need to do something!" Mom exclaimed.
"Honey, it seems there's nothing you can do." Dad insisted.
"Don't worry, I'm figuring out something, one step at a time." I assured them.
"Let's just hope these boys are telling the truth and it's not some messed up lie that could get you hurt." Dad said.
"Don't worry Dad, if it is I'll be careful." I responded.
My mom smiled, putting her hand on my shoulder. "You're an amazing girl, you know that?"
"I know..."

Later on that night, as I was working on a research assignment, I decided to take a break. It was pitch black out. The only light illuminated from my laptop. However, as I looked right next door at Avery's house, I noticed what looked like candlelit flames illuminating from the window. It was kind of suspicious to me. Especially since she's only ever done something like this once every week.
I wanted to try and check it out.
I quickly and quietly put on a robe and quietly made my way outside in the chilly night air and quietly ran over to the side of Avery's house. There was a fire escape I could climb up and get a good view of her room from.
I slowly and as quietly as I could climbed up the ladder. It made some creaking noises but otherwise, everything was quiet.
As I had finally made it to the window of her room, I looked through and noticed what looked like a pentagram and candles lit all around it. Right near one of the candles was a picture of Dan and Phil somebody had sneakily taken a picture of while at school.
I could hear Avery mumbling, but it wasn't English. It wasn't Spanish or French either. It didn't look like any language at all.
But whatever it was, she sounded demonic.
I then watched as she grabbed the photo and held it over a candle, where it slowly began burning.
I, without any hesitation took my phone out of my robe pocket and snapped several photos, my phone luckily on silent to capture the photos without any screw ups.
After having all the evidence I needed, I immediately and quickly climbed down the ladder and quickly ran across the yard and back to my house.
As soon as I was back up in my room, I immediately sent all the photos I took to Dan and Phil.
Avery is doing Satanic Rituals against you both!
I didn't get a single response back for the first few moments.
Finally, after about ten minutes, Dan responded back.
We know... they all do this...
My jaw dropped in shock. Why didn't they tell me this? Did they want me to discover it on my own?
Whatever the case may be I knew the 100% truth now. This was not a lie and this was really happening.
Dan and Phil's lives were both in danger.
