Delilah and I made our way through the entrance of the damp, dark tunnel.

"It's creepy in here." Delilah said uneasily, increasing her walking pace.

"Don't worry, I'll protect you." I comforted her as she clung onto my arm.

"Aren't you a bit worn out from activating the Excalibur?" Delilah asked in concern, slightly raising her eyebrow.

"I can defeat these low classed monsters with my eyes closed." I shrugged carelessly.

Okay, I was kind of bluffing. But why the hell would I admit that I'm weak as fuck right now? I'd look like a punk, so I'm just going to wing it... and hope for the best.

A loud, raspy roar shook me out of my thoughts.

"What the hell was that?" Delilah cried as she pulled me closer.

"What ever it is, it isn't friendly." I admitted while I swallowed my saliva.

Delilah and I crept down the dark path, following the horrific shrieks.

In front of us stood a malicious zombie. Its skin was literally white and peeling in several areas. There was a hunch in its back from its slouching posture. Its eyes were a very faint gray, with huge dark circles surrounding them. Its mouth dropped open as saliva trickled down to its chin. The raggedy clothes it wore was ripped and falling apart. The worst part is that it gave off a foul odor. The stench was so disgusting, I've never smelt anything like it before.

I may be too weak to use the Excalibur, but I can't beat this zombie with my bare hands... it's worth a shot.

I stood in front of Delilah, blocking her from the vile beast slouching before me. I pulled the Excalibur out of its leather scabbard.

A bright red aura surrounded the sword completely as I got into my fighting stance. The zombie shrieked and instinctively swung its sharp nails at me.

I barely dodged the hit, its nails grazing my broad chest.

I immediately swung my Excalibur at the creature. The sharp edge of my blade sliced directly through its discolored arm. Its dark red blood splattered into the air and began dripping onto the rough tunnel floor.

The zombie screeched and clenched the stub of its arm, I quickly dashed towards the bloody zombie and jammed my sword into its stomach.

It coughed up blood just before going limp. I pulled the Excalibur out of the beast and its body dropped to the cold ground. My Excalibur was covered in its dark red blood.

To my surprise, my sword began to glow a striking red. The blood seeped into the sword, causing the glow to intensify.

"What's going on with the Excalibur?" Delilah curiously asked, peeking from behind my shoulder.

"I don't know but it seems like it's absorbing all of the blood." I answered, still gripping on to the powerful weapon.

The glow dulled as the blood completely vanished from the blade.

"So, the Excalibur feeds off of blood. The more blood it sheds, the stronger the sword becomes." I smirked as I admired my blade.

"That seems to be the case." Delilah agreed.

"Amazing..." I said in awe while I placed the Excalibur back into its leather scabbard.
