Lance brought Delilah and I to a mossy cave. Soft dripping sounds of dew sliding off of the rocks echoed as we entered the hollow area.

"I'll meet you two here tomorrow." Lance said as he folded his arms across his broad chest.

"Okay, now leave." I demanded with a stern tone in my voice.

Lance rolled his gold eyes and turned to face Delilah who was clutching onto my arm.

"Good night m'lady." Lance smirked as he bowed down to Delilah.

"Get the fuck out!" I growled, instantly grabbing Lance by his neck and lifting him up from the damp ground. He gagged as he dug his claws into my hand, trying to free himself from my deadly grasp.

"Slade!!!" Delilah cried, pulling me away from Lance. I let go of the bastard and his body pummeled to the floor. The impact was so strong that little pieces of rocks came crashing down from the cave's interior.

Lance slowly stood up and gave me an intense stare. He then spit blood out of his mouth onto the cave floor.

"I said to get the fuck out! You didn't learn your lesson?!" I demanded once more, leaning towards him although Delilah was still holding me back.

Lance glared at me once more before walking away as he clenched his fists.

"Really, Slade?! What the fuck is wrong with you!" Delilah exclaimed while she released her grasp on my arms.

"I don't trust him at all." I shrugged as if nothing just happened.

"Why? 'Cause you're jealous?" Delilah teased.

"No. He's also a werewolf so there's a chance that he's the cannibal." I contended, trying to justify why else I can't stand the bastard.

"I doubt it." Delilah shrugged as she rolled her ocean blue eyes.

"Well I don't." I argued, trusting my gut instinct.

"Do you like me, Slade?" Delilah questioned while she stepped closer to me. She looked up into my soft eyes as if she was reading my body language.

"What?" I asked, completely taken aback by such a bold question.

"You heard me." Delilah said while she folded her arms across her chest.

Like? Oh the things I want to do to Delilah far surpasses the 'like' stage. But I can't catch feelings for someone. I can't let myself like her.  I'll only end up hurting her, I know it. I'm no good for Delilah anyway.

"Of course not." I answered coldly, my heart sunk a little as I knew I was lying to myself.

"I knew you'd say that." Delilah sighed, averting eye contact with me.

"Where is this even coming from-" I spoke but was quickly interrupted by Delilah.

"Stop." Delilah murmured under her breath.

"Stop?" I asked, not sure what she's going on about.

"Stop treating me like I'm your property!" Delilah screamed, her ocean blue eyes watering up.

"You don't even like me! So why?! Why do you have to be so-" Delilah continued, rage consuming her completely. She gritted her teeth whilst she tried to hold back her tears.

Delilah dropped her head down as her tears crashed down onto the cave floor.

"Delilah." I spoke, grabbing her by her biceps and forcing her to look me into my seductive eyes.

"For the first time in decades, I've found something worth fighting for. I don't know what to call this feeling yet, but my intuition is telling me to fight... if I don't fight then I'm sure that I'll lose you." I took a deep breath and gave Delilah a stern look. "I don't want you to be apart from me. I don't want to share you with anybody else. So, can I be a bit selfish for a little while...?" I pleaded, clutching onto a speechless Delilah.

"Slade... you're not alone anymore. I'm here now and I'll fight with you. So don't even think about losing me." Delilah contended just before flashing me a cute smile. Her dimples revealed itself as she grinned.

I leaned in towards Delilah and pressed my plump lips against her soft cheek. I gripped her body closer to me as her face turned a bright red.

"Come on, let's lay down." Delilah whispered as she made direct eye contact with me.

I sat back against the rough cave wall and Delilah sat beside me with her knees tucked towards her chest.

I patted my lap, indicating for Delilah to sit on it. But instead she blushed awkwardly then rested her head on my lap and laid down comfortably.

I stroked her soft, silky hair as I looked down on her, admiring her rosy cheeks and soft blue eyes.

"You always make me feel safe... I'm glad that I met you, Slade." Delilah uttered softly.

I paused and swallowed my saliva before I responded.

"...Same here." I whispered, letting my arrogance slip as I got lost into those eyes of hers. I was vulnerable to Delilah... and I couldn't help it. She was my weakness.

"You're more honest at night." Delilah smiled while she averted eye contact.

"What's that supposed to mean?" I questioned.

"Hehe, nothing. Good night, mystery man." Delilah giggled just before drifting off to sleep.

Deja vu...

Delilah's head was still positioned on my lap while she slept peacefully. She smelt like cherry blossoms... It was nice, I liked her presence. I felt comfortable for the first time in decades.

I slid my tongue across my upper lip and analyzed Delilah's sleeping body. Her neck was exposed.

Blood... AB blood.

My instincts were telling me to feed. My pupils dilated and my mouth widened, revealing my sharp fangs.

I leaned in towards Delilah's neck... and I couldn't stop myself.
