I felt a warmth consuming my entire body. I groaned as I opened my piercing, violet eyes.

The first thing I saw was Delilah's worried face filling my entire view. My head was positioned on her soft thighs and I was wrapped in bandages.

"Slade! You're awake." Delilah said joyfully while she stroked my jet black hair.

"...Yeah. How long was I out?" I uttered as I shifted my face towards Delilah's stomach.

"A whole day." Delilah answered with concern in the tone of her sweet voice.

"Damn. That's too long." I murmured as I buried my face into Delilah's lap.

It was so soft and comfortable, I didn't want to move. She smelt like... cherries.

"You really scared me." Delilah admitted as she sighed in relief.

"...I'm sorry." I sincerely spoke.

"Don't worry about it. How are you feeling? I bandaged your injuries and healed your internal wounds." Delilah worriedly asked.

"I'm okay, thanks to you." I shifted my position in her lap so that our eyes met with each other.

"Can you stand up?" She questioned.

"Yeah...but I don't want to." I admitted, enjoying her warmth.

Delilah's face turned a bright red as she smiled uncontrollably. I smirked back at her... Our gazes never leaving one another's. I got lost in those big, deep blue eyes of hers.

It's as if everything else around us didn't matter. As long as she's here with me... I'll be okay. I'm positive.

Heavy footsteps approached us.

"I hope I'm not interrupting." Delano shrugged as he stood over us.

Ugh... way to ruin the fucking moment.

I sighed as I stood up from Delilah's lap then reached my arm out to her. She grabbed onto me and pulled herself up, not letting go of my hand.

"What do you want?" I asked fiercely.

"Since Leondro is out cold, I'll be the one to give you the Excalibur." Delano gestured towards a huge pool... that was filled with blood.

"Okay." I agreed, following him towards the pool of blood.

"The Excalibur is in there." Delano pointed towards the bloody pool.

"The imbecile couldn't even activate its power?" I chuckled at how pathetic this is.

"Apparently not. Keep in mind that the Excalibur chooses its wielder." Delano explained.

"Which is me." I interrupted confidently.

"We'll see." Delano sarcastically responded.

I smirked as let go of Delilah's hand. She smiled before I walked in front of the pool.

"Prove that you're worthy of the Excalibur." Delano chuckled, clearly testing me.

I'll prove the bastard wrong.

I stuck my hand into the bloody pool. It felt cold and bottomless.

I shouldn't seek out what doesn't want to be found... Instead, I need to let it come to me.

I took a deep breath and closed my eyes, enhancing my other senses.

Suddenly huge flashes of bright red lights filled the entire area. I felt a clink against the pool and gripped the sharp blade that arose to the surface of the blood.

I pulled out the heavy Excalibur with great force. Drops of blood speckled on the floor as I admired my sword. It was of the finest silver, with a deep red fuller. The guard of the sword was a striking gold, one brighter than the sun.

It held an immense amount of power.

And it's all mine.

I walked towards Delano and Delilah, while holding the Excalibur which was glowing a bright red. Delano's jaws dropped as he admired the weapon in front of him.

"No way... You managed to retrieve the Excalibur so effortlessly?!" Delano exclaimed, clearly jealous of my weaponry.

Before I could even give him a sassy retort, Delilah spoke for me.

"Of course he did. Don't ever underestimate him." Delilah said sternly as she placed her hands on her hips.

That's my girl.

"Delilah's actually correct for once." I condescended.

She rolled her eyes and I couldn't help but chuckle.

"Anyway, since I've got what I came here for. I'll get going." I told Delano.

"We'll get going." Delilah corrected me while she slid her arm into mine then clung herself to me.

"Farewell you two." Delano waved as we made our way out of the Saito Manor.

"Phase one, complete." Delano guffawed.

Delilah and I stood outside of the Saito Manor, getting ready to resume our journey.

"Where will we go now?" Delilah questioned.

"We spent way too much time in Transylvania... I know a shortcut we can take. Follow me." I spoke as I held Delilah's hand.

She nodded in agreement and we walked through the cold woods of Grimdor.

We came across an underground tunnel, covered with overgrown weeds.

"This is the tunnel of death." I said nonchalantly.

"D-death?" Delilah questioned as she swallowed her saliva.

"It's called that because of the overwhelming amount of dangerous creatures dwelling in this passageway." I explained.

"What kind of creatures?" Delilah questioned as her voice shook.

I rubbed her hand with my thumb to reassure her that there's nothing to be afraid of.

"You'll see when we go in there. This tunnel is a direct route out of Transylvania and into the city, Crawdor." I informed Delilah.

"So Crawdor is out next stop?" Delilah questioned for conformation.

Yeah. Are you ready?" I asked sincerely.

"Yeah, let's do this." Delilah agreed with newfound determination.

We walked hand in hand into the dark tunnel.

Unaware of what was really in store...
