"Hello." A rather pale woman with short raven hair approached the diner table. I recognized her instantly, once I saw her striking violet eyes.

"Master Slade, it's good to see you again." The woman smirked.

It's Lucine.

"Lickwise, Lucine." I responded as Delilah pulled herself off of me, sitting upright in her chair.

"I hope I wasn't intruding." Lucine smirked as she noticed Delilah's flustered face.

"Not at all." I assured, although she really did ruin a comfortable moment.

"Here's roasted chicken for the lady." Lucine said as she placed a plate of chicken in front of Delilah.

Delilah's eyes lit up immediately as she admired the extravagant meal that was presented.

"...And five vials of blood for you, Master Slade." Lucine spoke while handing me five metal vials.

I took them from her, then Lucine respectfully curtseyed just before vanishing into thin air.

I glanced towards Delilah and she ate her meal with no hesitation whatsoever. She was eating so fast and messily, grease dripped from her pink, plump lips.

I could tell that Delilah was definitely hungry by the way she was devouring the chicken.

But why didn't she tell me that she wanted something to eat?
...
Whatever.

I opened one of my vials of blood and chugged it quickly.

The deep, red blood had a sweet taste to it; it was blood type O. My second favorite blood type. I was tempted to drink another vial, but it's best to save the other four for the journey.

Soon enough, Delilah finished the last of her meal.

"That chicken tasted amazing, wow. I can't even remember the last time I had such a decent meal." Delilah complimented as she rubbed her stomach in satisfaction.

"They use their powers for the best luxury that they can get in Grimdor." I asserted.

"Why did you leave this place?" Delilah questioned me curiously.

"That's none of your concern." I coldly spat.

"I see..." Delilah responded as she folded her arms across her chest.

"Lucine!" I called out.

A slight gush of wind passed through as Lucine appeared in front of the dining table.

"Yes, Master Slade?" Lucine questioned her summoning.

"We're ready to head to our room." I responded as I stood up from my chair.

"Of course, follow me." Lucine said obediently.

She led us through the cold corridors.
Delilah's arm was interlocked with mine, her body heat was comforting...

We passed dark brown coffins covered in dust, unusual paintings, and many abandoned rooms.

We took a left turn through the manor and suddenly Lucine stopped in front of a red door.
