"Hey.. what are you doing here?" I asked. "Um, no I was just worried about you. You weren't home," Hide responded.

"I'm fine."

I gave him a smile and walked over to my fridge. "U-uh, did anything happen with Kaneki? Did you see anything?" Hide asked suspiciously. "No, I lost him. Why? Do you know something?" I asked him back.

Why would Hide ask such a suspicious question?

"Stop asking so many questions. I don't know anymore than you do," he said. He then wrapped his arms around me from behind.

I scanned my eyes across my fridge, trying to ignore the fact that he was holding me. I closed my fridge after I realized there was barely any food.

Hide held me tighter.

"What are you doing?" I asked him.

"I just want a hug."

"Okay.."

I then heard a knock on my door. I began to worry. What if it was the guy who was trying to hurt me? What if it was Kaneki?

I pulled away from Hide, slowly and cautiously walking towards the door. He followed behind me, probably confused. I opened the door slowly and saw Kaneki there.

I instantly froze and my eyes widened.

But, he looked normal. He had his black hair and eyepatch as usual. And he did not have blood on his face. He looked normal.

"W-what are you doing here?" I asked. My hands were shaking and I could barely speak. Hide grabbed my hand, calming me down. Kaneki looked between Hide and I, and then down at our hands. "Can I talk to her for a second?" Kaneki asked calmly.

Hide let go of my hand and nodded. He walked out the door and Kaneki walked in, shutting the door.

I began to sweat.

I needed an explanation.
