Your POV

You stare at him in amazed silence. The silence gets thicker and thicker until he busts out laughing. His laugh lines becoming more prominent as he laughs even harder. "Oh, my Dios. You should have seen your faces it was great," He said laughing. Then his laughter stopped as soon as it began.

His glasses slid down a bit and he pushed them up to his ever-changing hazel eyes. His dark-brown hair fell over on his forehead. His skin tone clearly screamed Hispanic but his voice had a slight flamboyance tone to it. Then his once happy filled face turned dark and serious looking at Ross.

"(Y/N) I bought you a plane ticket for your friend and not a scum bag," he said with a sneer. Ross looked appalled as you both entered the shop fully and admired the décor. He had dark purple walls with shelves lined up with trinkets and necklaces. One entire side of the wall was filled with herbs and incense.

"Who are you calling scumbag," Ross said indignantly. The shopkeeper's eyes hardened and his tone become like cold steel. "Is it that hard to forget who you bullied in high school Ross. Granted I don't hold a grudge against you, but being called a faggot does leave its scars. Don't forget to mention you mocked me for my interest in tarot reading," He said coldly.

You stared at Ross wide-eyed. You could see the shame in his eyes and the panic that flowed through him. He was trying to remember who this guy was and he snapped his fingers breaking his trance. "Santiago that's who you are," Ross said with newfound knowledge.

Ross looked at you happily but another knife flew by Ross' face and embedded itself in what you believe to be a voodoo doll. "Pity it wasn't charmed with your essence Ross. Would've hurt like a bitch," Santiago said. You look at Santiago and his expression softened.

"Why do you hate Ross? I didn't even know you went to the same high school," You say curiously. Ross turns back and speaks for Santiago himself. "He left high school and transferred somewhere else," Ross answered. Santiago nods but doesn't look happy Ross spoke out of his turn.

"That's when I came to your high school (Y/N). People didn't mind my tarot readings, in fact, some people asked for some themselves. But that kind of stuff taxes your energy. Also between my low energy and the incident between a certain guy. I stopped for a while," Santiago said his mind drifting through the past.

"Wait what incident?" Ross asked. Before Santiago could throw another knife you answered. "It's nothing important Ross really," You say quickly trying to dissolve the conflict. Santiago looked at you with high praise and glanced at Ross and had instant hatred. trying to dissolve the conflict.

"Well I guess that's why you call it Smoke and Mirrors with all the secrets you hide," A voice said. Santiago's expression brightened as the woman walked in. She had pale skin but not pale enough to make it seem like she had never been outside. Black rimmed glasses, shorter than you maybe about 5' 4". She had crimson hair that worked well with the maroon scarf she wore.

"London we both know I have too many secrets for one person to keep," Santiago said standing up and giving her a hug. "Well, aren't you too chummy. You might as well be dating," Ross commented. They both turned around quickly and glared at Ross. "What!!!," The shouted at him.

Sensing a fight about to break out you placed yourself between them seeing a glint of silver in Santiago's hand. "Santiago put the knife down and let's talk about this," You said trying to reason with the angry Hispanic. He reluctantly slipped the knife back into the jacket he was wearing and sat down.

"Ross do you understand what kind of Mierda I go through in one day. People come in all the time saying I'm a fake or a scam artist. Others call me the devil and the spawn of Satan. There was even a protest outside my shop calling me a faggot demon. I have to go through with that every day, and it's hard," Santiago said defiantly.
