Not Again [Part 16]

Your POV

Your eyes are shut and fog enters your mind and you can't seem to understand anything that's going on. "(Y/N) Wake up come on you're strong I know you can wake up" A voice says through the fog. You can feel the hardwood floor underneath you and the fog starts to clear.

Your eyes open slowly and you see a guy kneeling down looking at you. You look into his eyes and see they're crystal blue. His white skin cuts through the dark night and his blond hair is shining in the moonlight. He smiles and his teeth shine with warmth.

He holds a hand out to you and helps you stand up. When you stand up you finally get a better look at the guy helping you. He's taller than you and you get another good look in his face. Finally, the realization hits you and you scramble back in the corner.

"Kyle how did you find me. I ran away from you, you shouldn't know where I am." You say terrified about what's going to follow in the next few minutes. "(Y/N) Calm down I'm not here to harm you," Kyle says to you holding out his hand again.

He smiles at you and the smile that you thought was filled with warmth gleans with devilish crimes. "Like hell, I'll ever trust you again you sadist," You say and start to make your escape. You jump up to your feet and kick him in the chest. He falls back a couple of feet and you plan your escape.

You run to the back door in your kitchen and try to open it to no avail. You feel the panic rising in your throat and attempt to scream. Before any sound can come out something hits you in the back of your neck and your hand grips the counter in front of you.

You quickly turn preparing to strike back but a hand grips your throat. Kyle's eyes stare deadly into yours and fear grips your heart. "You've gotten stronger (Y/N) But I'll always have to bring you back to reality. You can't escape me. I've already jammed the locks so you can't leave," He says with a sadistic smile.

His other hand runs down your face and down your arm resting on your waist. "I've missed you (Y/N) when you ran away from me I was so angry. I tried to track you down for weeks waiting to exact my revenge on you. Now that you're here with me you're not leaving me ever again."

Your hands resting on the counter top twitch and slowly your right hands makes it's way across the counter gripping onto a cool wooden handle. "I loved you once Kyle and I hate to break it to you but I won't ever make that mistake again. As for me leaving, well you're just gonna have to run to catch up to me."

You swing your hand around and plunge your knife straight into Kyle's stomach. He shouts in outrage and you kick him in the shins knocking him down and loosening your grip on you. You try to run but he grabs your leg and you fall. "You. Won't. leave. Again," He says unmistakably trying to fight through the pain.

"Like hell, I'll stay with you, though," You say and stab him in the shoulder. You rip yourself from his grip and run to the window and jump out of it. The glass shatters and cuts into your skin but you land perfectly and stand up. You look back at your house for a moment then start running.

You make an attempt to run to the nearby town but headlights stop you dead in your tracks. If he comes at me I can't have any hesitation to kill him. You steel yourself for the action but the car pulls over and the window rolls down and reveals Jess. "(Y/N) I heard you bought a house, but what are you doing out here?" Jess asks.

You run to the passenger side and open the door jumping in. "Jess no time to explain just drive to Max's house and step on it," You say to Jess. "(Y/N) what are you talking about? OH MY GOD you're hurt!" She exclaims. In the distance you see the door to your house move slightly and you panic.

"JESS PLEASE I'LL EXPLAIN LATER JUST DRIVE," You shout. Without any further explanation, Jess makes a sharp U-turn and drives away from your house. Pain cuts through you mask every no and again but you force it down as you plan your next move.

"(Y/N) Can you please explain what happened back at your house?" Jess asks keeping her eyes on the road. You check your cuts another time and take a deep breath.

"Jess I bought a new house and broke up with Max-" You start to say but jess cuts you off mid sentence.

"WAIT DID MAX HURT YOU!" She screams. "No Jess it's nothing like that. I broke up with Max at the Christmas party. I could tell that he didn't love me as much as he loved Ross. His true love."

"WAIT MAX LOVES ROSS. YES, MY OTP!!!" Jess screams and swerving the car. You smile at Jess' innocence and continue on with your story.

"Once I told him that, I went back to my apartment and it didn't feel right to me. Too many memories were there and I needed a new setting. I bought a house and Max came to my apartment and we talked. We decided he really did love Ross and he needed to tell him. Max took my car but promised to bring it back. While I was unpacking I received a note from Kyle."

At the mention of his name, you see Jess tense up and look scared into the rearview mirror. "(Y/N) I thought you finally ran away from him and he couldn't find you," She says curiously. I thought so too but of course, I can never settle down. You let a tear fall before continuing.

"I read the note and passed out and when I woke up I saw Kyle. He seemed kind but I knew better than to trust him. I tried to run away, but he locked me in my house. I grabbed a knife then stabbed him in his stomach and shoulder before jumping out of a window and running. Then that's where I met you."

"Holy shit (Y/N) I can't believe to understand what you've been through. We're almost to Max's house so if you need to shut your eyes for a bit and take a nap," She offers. You smile and nod then shut your eyes trying to forget everything that just happened.

When you wake up you see the stars in the sky. They glittered like small fires so far away from the destruction of earth. You look ahead and see Max's house coming into view. Jess pulls up and parks the car. You get out and take one last check behind you to check for Kyle.

You exhale the breath you didn't know you were keeping in and feel all the pressure relieve you for a moment. "Thanks Jess for driving me here," You thank her. She smiles and comes to give you a hug. She wraps her arms around you and you feel safe.

"Of course (Y/N) and hey look your car is right there," She says pointing to your black car. You smile and take in the familiar surroundings. "Come on Jess let's go in I have a key," You say digging out your key Max gave you

"Oh where did you get a key (Y/N) I don't even have one," She says smugly. You blush and open the door. "Shut up Jess."

I guess I have some explaining to do.
