Your POV
You sit in your house sulking on your couch. "Of course I don't get to see Adam the one day I'm free" You mumble. You get up and try to find something to eat in your fridge. As you go through your selections you hear a phone ring in the background.
You suddenly lift your head up and rush to your phone. You don't check who's calling and just answer the phone.
You: Hello?
???: Hi (Y/N) it's Alesa
You: Hey Alesa what do you need.
Alesa: Well Adam, Max, Ross, and I felt bad you couldn't meet Adam so we decided to visit you at Starbucks but when we got there you weren't there.
You curse quietly and think of a plan as fast as you can.
You: Oh well sorry Alesa but when I got into work today I had a major virus and I had to leave sick.
Alesa: Are you feeling okay? Do you need me to come over?
You: "NO NO," You answer quickly. "Please, Alesa I don't want to get you sick too," You say trying to get her to back away.
Alesa: "Okay (Y/N), if you need anything to hesitate to call me," She responds.
Before you can say anything you suddenly hear a quiet whisper in the background. "Alesa you know she's lying right?" The quiet voice overheard on the phone. Anger bubbles up in you and you hang up without saying goodbye.
How could my best friend do this to me? You trusted Alesa and it's very hard for you to trust people. You lay down on the couch a silent tear falling down your face. I just need to sleep then everything will go away.
You shut your eyes letting sleep take you far from consciousness. The back of your eyelids flutter as you fall into a sleep you wish you wouldn't come out of.
(About an hour later)
As you finally feel relaxed sleeping the sound of a doorbell ringing wakes you up. You groan in protest and look through the small eyehole. You see a short girl with black hair, full frame black glasses, jeans, and a galaxy sweatshirt on. She looked to be in her mid or upper twenties.
You open the door and the girl who was previously on the phone hung up. "Um, can I help you?" You ask the girl. The girl takes a deep breath and puts on her best smile. "Hi I'm Jess, Alesa told me to come over and check p on you," She said looking confused.
You silently curse to yourself. Of course, Alesa would send someone to check up on me. "Sorry, I think you have the wrong apartment. I don't know an Alesa," You say trying to get this girl to leave.
She pulls out her phone and shows her a picture of you. "You're (Y/N) right I'm pretty sure I have the right place. But, you don't look sick at all," Jess says looking confused. You sigh and fully open the door. "Well you better come in this is gonna be a long day," You tell Jess.
You turn and walk to the kitchen preparing some coffee for Jess. "So why weren't you at work today, "Jess said starting the interrogation. You turn and lean on your counter and sigh. "Do you know Max. Alesa's friend Sort of tall, red hair, brown eyes that hold a secret," You ask Jess.
Jess look at you quizzically then answers yes. So she's a friend of Max huh. "If you know Max, Jess I'm sorry but I can't help you," You say not wanting anything to do with this girl anymore. Jess look sat you in surprise and her mouth is agape.
"Why won't you tell me I'm a friend of Alesa," She says. Her tone suggests that she wants something out of you. Your anger threatens to burst but you turn and give her your biggest death glare. Her eyes widen and she backs away with a whimper.
"You're also a friend of Max. I'm pretty sure he and Ross sent you her to get something out of me. I trust Alesa but after this little stunt, I don't know I f I can trust anyone," You say tears welling up in your eyes.
Jess crumples and falls to the floor. Her hands help her catch herself on the floor but not after hitting something metallic. She turns and shouts scrambling to get away. You look at what she hit and see the metallic barrel of a gun.
The once beautiful steel covered in dried spots of blood. When did I get a gun? You think then remember the night you saved Max. For some reason, you had taken the gun and decided to hide it to make sure you could get the fingerprints off of it so you couldn't be traced.
With those memories also come with the ones that you killed two guys that night. Tears fall to the floor and your breathing turn erratic. Your vision starts to blacken and Jess rushes over to you. "(Y/N) Are you okay?" She asks but you can't breathe.
You mumble something inaudible and pass out.
When you wake up Jess has your head in your lap and shake getting up from the position you were previously in. Jess looks at you worried and you notice the gun on the coffee table. You turn to Jess and hold her close.
"I'm sorry to put you through that," You apologise. She shakes her head and smiles at you. "It's fine I was just worried," she tells you. You take another look at the gun and decide to come clean.
"Jess, I'm going to tell you everything but I want you to promise not to tell anyone please, "You aks your eyes pleading. She smiles and nods.
"It started after work one day"
