"Class, I hope all of you will do your homework. Remember, you and your partner have to submit your projects by the end of next week," reminded Miss Samantha.
Our project was on the digestive system. Apparently, Miss Samantha wants a model of it. So, I am screwed. Tomi? Project? With me? Can this get any better? It was bad enough to have a coffee with him and now, a project.
I walked to the school doorways. "SELINE!" I turned around. Urgh. Tomi. "What do you want?" I asked him angrily. "You said you would grab a coffee with me," he went and stood in front of me. I looked at him in the eye. He seemed like he really wanted this coffee date. "I said fine. I didn't said yes." I walked away from him and this time he held my hand. "Seline." He just wouldn't give up would he? "Okay. Fine." "I know this amazing coffee house at around the corner," he flashed a big smile.
We walked for at least passed one block. "So.. when is your birthday?" Tomi asked. I lowered my head. "My birthday is just an ordinary day. I was just born on that day," I said. I felt him staring at me. Before things got weirder a coffee shop was right before us. "WASSER CAFE" signboard was in brown and the window was decorated with vines and flowers. Artificial? It looked too real to be fake, so I doubt it was. "Here we are," Tomi said.
I was mesmerised by it. Damn. It looked so simple and yet so beautiful. Tomi looked at me with a smile and I raised my eyebrow as I went for the door and opened it. Oh my. Everything was literally made out of wood. The counter, the menus, the chairs, the tables, everything was like a nature themed cafe. Lodge table craved with a tree in the middle of the table with glass protecting it was paired with at least two chairs or more with a quote at the back of each chair. A glass waterfall was present. It was located at the back next to a door locating an extension of the cafe. "Behind there is where you can have a look at all types of flowers. And this will bring your coffee experience to the next level as you breathe in the scent of the flowers surrounding you. Not only that, the presence of the flowers will help your body relax and the sound of the waterfall compliments it, too," said a waitress who noticed I was staring at the waterfall.
"Impressed?" Tomi asked. "How did you know about this place?" "Secret," he gave me a wink.
I ordered a mocha latte and Tomi got a cup of cappuccino. "Want to go to the extended room?" he looked at me. "YES." We went into the extended room. My heart dropped. It was like the room was an outdoor cafe but reality, the cafe made sure the extended room had an glass roof which is at least 10 feet above the ground. The walls of the cafe were covered vines and flowers were wrapped over trees. Fairy lights were hanged at the branches of the trees. It was breath-taking. I have never seen a place as amazing as this cafe. "What's there at the end?" I questioned Tomi. "It's a garden. You can have a picnic here with your loved ones," he answered. "How does the cafe even pay its rental?" "Well, at this time, the cafe will be quiet but during the weekends or public holidays, the line may even exceed the door," said Tomi.
Tomi pointed at a table for two at the corner of the waterfall. I sat and took a sip of my mocha. "So, what's your story?" He smiled widely. Damn. He really does smile awfully a lot for a normal person. "I don't have a story." "Oh, c'mon. There must be a story." I looked him straight in the eyes. Was he really interested to know me? I haven't opened up to anyone in a long time and I really don't want to. "Tomi, I don't want to be rude to you but I really don't want to open up everything about myself to you." Before he could open his mouth, I cut him off, "Look, it's getting late so I'll see you later." I took my bag and left the cafe.
