Siren

She disappeared like when you write your heart on the sand and the sea slowly erases you in gentle motions.

It was so subtle, yet altogether powerful and concrete.

It is an action that cannot be undone.
Much like those those three words, you said too brilliantly.

You didn't even notice she was leaving, you were too transfixed on her incredible beauty.

Perhaps she was a siren with no intention of staying
Perhaps your brittle movements scared her skittish soul

Was she breaking you or saving you?

I believe she loved you.
But, she was a coward, and cowards fly when they should fight.

I see it in your eyes, whenever the infinite blue appears, they take on the hue of heartache and emeralds.

You can't make her nocturne eyes vanish.

You try to convince yourself you are fine, you didn't need a harpy, you needed a mermaid.

The sea will, much like her, heal and sting your cuts.
