I've managed to push out the pain. Both physical and mental. I've managed to turn off all signs of emotion. You love, you die. You care, they die. Only bad things happen to me. I feel numb. I feel trapped in this universe where every bad thing possible happens daily. People are starving, sick and hurting. They get to show their emotion. I can't. If I show any sign of fear, they get scared and this uncivilized civilization will go to hell. I don't know what to do.

It had been two days and Amara hadn't moved or eaten or spoken. She just laid there unable to move her frail body. After getting shot, it made her realize that she's not indestructible and she can get hurt. She felt like she had not control over anything. Her side still burned due to a thousand degree knife being placed on her skin.

Unity Day. A history changing day where the twelve stations came together as one to form the Ark. Amara didn't find anything special about it. As she called it 'the day where stupid people came together to form a stupid place and not work to find aliens. Instead they chose to live. Disgusting'. Those were her exact words the year before she was taken to the sky box. Of course, her father thought otherwise.

The whole camp stood around one computer and watched as Jaha talked about Unity Day and how this was not only the day where the stations combined, but the day that the people of the Ark returned to Earth. That's not how it'd really happen. There's over two-thousand people living on the Ark, but only enough drop ships to carry seven-hundred. The issue that they dreaded to deal with had now come upon them.

"Brought you some food. " Miller said as he walked in the ship with a small cup made from scrap and a small portion of meat.

"I'm not hungry, but thanks. " Amara simply replied.

"You haven't eaten in two days. You need to eat so you can build up your strength. We need you 'Mara. " Amara bit the insides of her cheek before taking the food and drink from him.

She carefully placed the cup to her lips  and allowed the soft liquid to flow down her throat.

"What's in this?" Amara asked as she tasted the bitter taste in the drink.

"The day you got shot, everyone in camp got like really high off of these nuts and it numbed them completely. Jasper had to carry around an anti-Grounder stick and Monty ate a pinecone." Miller smiled before continuing to answer her question. "Monty crushed up some of the nuts and put them in here. There's not enough to get you to how we were, but enough to ease the pain. "

"Thanks, Miller. When we first came down here, I really thought you were a jackass. You're a nice guy, I guess. Don't tell anyone I said that. " Miller laughed and handed her the food.

She slowly brought the meat to her lips and into her mouth. Amara gave a soft smile.

"Thanks again Miller. You're the best." She said as she 'chewed' her food.
