Where do I begin, oh yeah, the beginning

-Someone calling me?-

Hmm? Who dares call me?

I twisted my body to confront the threat behind me.

Isn't she too old for that? She wore a girl scout uniform befitting her chubby body. It's not common for someone to dare have a conversation with me, so I entertained her.

I riddled my sentences to intimidate her, I was hoping she'd go away.

But she actually stuck and flipped the tables on me. It took me seconds to buffer until I realized she already disappeared back into our publication's office.

You just got owned, brah.

Going home, I dropped my PlayStation Portable and pursued putting pencil to paper once more and finish my sketch, but my hand was still shaky.

She's fluent, it's rare for me to find someone that good with English. Interesting girl, let's see how far you can go.

-Unspoken-

I had headaches whenever I pass the 4th years. I was minutes away from my Filipino class until I froze at the staircase leading to the seniors.

Oh hell, she planned this. Don't act so surprised I know you were waiting for me.

Going past her without a word, I felt an air of annoyance or must be the musk of morning perfume. Ugh.

This went on for the duration of weeks and months, I'd commonly encounter her around school like a wild Pokemon without a proper habitat.

At the corner of my eye, I could see her sneaking a peak when I order some snacks at our canteen. I couldn't focus in class when they were having theirs just across ours, through the windows, she was leaning towards me.

Oh, you think I'm gonna look at you? Keep wishing.

And yet, something was eagerly trying to burst from my belly, it was probably the ulcer. Well, I hoped it was the ulcer.

-Birthday? Forget about it!-

Yep, one of the dreaded days of my life. No, I don't hate my birthday, I just hate it when people put up smiles just to greet you, when they never really meant it.

Little miss annoyance at the time was being her usual sarcastic self, to me, it was a mere butterflies wing. But soon when she heard that I celebrated alone, she offered to make it up.

Meeting her with one of my friends, she flung us out of the school commotion and into a sari-sari store, where she bought us Magnum Ice cream.

Okay, at the time, those things cost 50 pesos, and my daily pocket money was only 20! And she bought two! Well... Three including her.

I kept my cool, but I was grateful. The very next day I asked my friend if he has her number. And well... Just try and imagine two prepubescent teens texting each other.

She'd call me, our conversations would last for days, I greeted night and morning whenever I heard her gleeful voice. Deep within the atrocities of my soul, God crafted the single most powerful force laying dormant within the confining chains of my ever so yearning heart.

You're a surprising catch, alright, you got my attention. But still, let's see how far you can go.

-Beng Beng-

Our school held an event for our English subject called a verse choir. Knowing she was a part of it, I wanted to congratulate her.

So with the last bits of my pocket money, I bought a chocolate bar called Beng Beng and slipped it into her bag while she was performing with her class.

Her text expression was priceless, asking everyone present at the time of the event.

It took her months before she realized it was me who mysteriously gave her that chocolate bar.

It was fuzzy, seeing her dimpled smile, it made me want to pinch those cheeks of hers.

We had little conversations after that, then, she gave me a nickname. I did the same.

So, hi there, Reader. I'm C, and she's M. Still following us? Good because this is where the fun stuff begins! Get ready to be blasted with pure quality romance!
