I was born on November third to my parents Walburga and Orion Black who had been pleased to reproduce a son, someone to carry on the Black name. They had named me Sirius Orion, a name that was well liked and respected by the Black family. About two years later, my brother Regulus Arcturus was born. We grew up together in London, never able to communicate with the outside world with the only exception of family or family friends.

Now Regulus and I were never particularly close, we played together as kids but as we got older we talked less and less. Our family is from a long, proud line of Slytherin purebloods. The only people I was allowed to associate with were purebloods. I was raised in a way that made me arrogant, narcissistic, and think I was superior. I still cringe at some of the things I remember saying when I was young and ignorant. I have since developed my own beliefs and opinions that differ from those of my parents. My brother on the other hand, hasn't.

I was always in a hurry to get to Hogwarts, my cousins telling me stories when they were at school. My cousin Narcissa started school when I was seven. I remember watching jealously as she packed her trunk for school. The older I got the more I wanted to go, not just because of the magic, but because of my family. Me being completely stupid at the time, told them my beliefs about muggleborns, saying that they were no different than us. And well let's just say my parents have no problem using the unforgivable curses. From then on I kept my mouth shut.

When I finally got to Hogwarts I was sorted into Gryffindor, terrified what my parents would think, I tried to hide it from them. It wasn't hard at first since they never contacted me while at school, but when I came home for Christmas I tried to hide my robes and anything else that could tell them I was a Gryffindor. They found out anyways, we got together with my Aunt, Uncle, and cousins for Christmas dinner when my father asked me to put on my robes and show my Slytherin pride. At first I just sat in shock until my mother demanded that I go put them on. I remember taking forever to put them on, trying to think of a spell to change the red and gold to green and silver and the Gryffindor crest to a Slytherin one. Nothing worked. I ended up waiting until my father yelled up the stairs telling me to hurry up until I went downstairs. Once everyone saw the red and gold of my robes, I was being grabbed by my father and drug into his study. That was the second time I've been victim to him using an unforgivable curse.

The only sympathetic look I got was from my cousin Andromeda. She was always my favorite cousin. Well, the only bearable one I should say. She accepted me for who I was and she was the only one besides me with differing opinions than our family's. Of course she never stated her opinions and that was why she was loved by her parents, they thought she was like them.

During my first year at Hogwarts I met James Potter, a boy in my year with messy black hair and glasses. We sat together on the train and at the welcoming feast too as he had also been sorted into Gryffindor. At the Gryffindor table is where we met Remus Lupin and Peter Pettigrew, my other two best friends besides James. It worked out perfectly, the four of us, we shared the same dormitory and most of our classes. For once I felt at home.

Second year, well this is the year we met Severus Snape, aka Snivellus. James and I immediately took a dislike to the fellow and Peter was not far behind. Whatever James did, Peter agreed with and tried to copy, the short, slightly chubby boy very much idolized James. Remus was a bit impassive, he didn't join in on our teasing, but he didn't stop us either. James was quite the show off and never missed a chance to hex Snape.

When third year rolled around, Regulus started school. He was sorted into Slytherin guaranteeing himself as the favorite child. He and I never talked while at Hogwarts, I think he might have been ashamed to have me as a brother, but we occasionally spoke while at home on the holidays. This is the year I took a liking to Quidditch and signed up for the team along with James. We both made it and James became a chaser and I became a beater. Remus and Peter came to every match, giving their full support. This was a particularly good year for me. I was never very good academically but I was great at Quidditch. This was also when James' crush on Lily Evans, a red headed Gryffindor in our year, began.

At the end of third year we found out that Remus was a werewolf. How he managed to keep it from us this long was beyond me. He would disappear every full moon giving us some excuse of why he couldn't stay in the dorm that night or go to classes that next morning. Ever since we found out, we have been visiting him in the hospital wing and giving him as much support as we could. That was also when we started on our journey to become Animagi.

Now fourth year was the year I discovered leather jackets and motorcycles. My muggle friends  introduced me to them. As muggle things I knew my parents would hate them which made me love them even more. I did everything I could just to irritate my parents, I started becoming braver. My walls at home were decorated in Gryffindor banners and I only wore muggle clothes unless I was in my school uniform. I also grew my hair out and refused to shave what very little facial hair I had at fourteen. My dark, slightly wavy hair was a little past my shoulders. When I made muggle friends in London, I would sneak out in the middle of the night to see them. This was not the appropriate look and behavior of a pureblood, well educated young man as my parents always told me. They always hoped I would change and somehow magically be put into Slytherin. They lost any hope they might have had left by this time though.

In our fifth year we had finally became animagi. James turning into a stag, Peter a rat, and I a dog. We started to keep Remus company on full moons in the Shrieking Shack and eventually roamed the grounds. Remus was very grateful for our company and he even began to slightly enjoy full moons. Of course the transformations were quite painful and terrifying, he always said that we made it bearable. With us roaming the grounds once a month, we learned everything about the school and that's how we came to create the Mauraders Map.

This year at Hogwarts is unknown, yet to be discovered and it all starts at number twelve, Grimmauld Place, London.
