FLASHBACK: (END OF CHAPTER SIXTEEN)

We exit the common room in time to see Marlene turn a corner. We quickly follow her not being as quiet as we should be. We follow Marlene until we end up at... "Dumbledores office?" I said confused even more. "Come on, I told you this was pointless." Remus said with a sigh. "Let's wait for her," James said and this time I wasn't as eager to go ahead with his plan. "It's probably not that important anyways. She was just trying to get to me." James shakes his head before saying,"well she won't be in there long I'm sure so let's just wait and see, yeah?"

Remus and I groan but agree with James anyways. We sit in the corridor waiting for Marlene to reappear for two hours before James finally gives up and we head to the common room again. "I thought for sure she wouldn't be in there that long! Damn, what's she doing? Having sex with Dumbledore?" I laugh a little at his comment before we hear footsteps. We turn around to see Marlene appear outside Dumbledores office.

The boys and I quickly hide as we watch her. She steps out into the corridor with a look of worry on her face and muttered to herself, just loud enough for us to hear.

"The doctors with save him," she gave herself a reassuring nod and walked away.

End of Flashback

I walk down the corridor of St. Mungos. After a bit of hesitation I decided I needed to do this. There were so many things weighing on my mind right now. I couldn't help but wonder how she had managed to convince me that she was pregnant.

I entered her hospital room to find a woman sitting next to Marlene on the bed, holding a baby. I cleared my throat to catch their attention. Marlene looked up at me and I could see a flicker of hope in her eyes. "Can I talk to you?" I ask, hoping the woman would leave. Marlene nods before asking the woman for some privacy.

After the woman leaves, I turn to Marlene,"who's that?" I indicated to the woman outside the door. "My sister. Look, Sirius, I'm really sorry I lied to you and I can promise it won't happen again." I waved off her apology, not caring in the slightest about it. She was only apologizing because she was caught.

"Why did you fake the pregnancy, Marlene?" I ask, I know at least part of it was to get back with me but I wanted to know if there was anything else. "I just wanted us to get back together," she looked at her hands as she spoke. "We can't be together anymore and this is why. All we do is lie to each other and fight all the time." Marlene looks about to protest, but I cut her off.

"How the hell did you convince me and Lily that you were pregnant? What were you doing when you were going to Dumbledore for your supposed appointments? How did you make your stomach grow?" I ran my hands through my hair, hoping for an answer instead of an apology.

"I...I was going to appointments when I went to Dumbledores office," I glared at her, hoping to get some sort of truth out of her. "I mean it! They just weren't my appointments. I was going with my sister to her appointment because she was having difficulties with her pregnancy." I looked at her, slightly confused. So Marlene wasn't pregnant, her sister was?

"Wait so you used your sisters pregnancy to fake your own?" Marlene gave a small nod. "Yeah, I know. I'm sorry." I shook my head ignoring her apology once again. "What about your stomach?" I gestured to her stomach as I asked the question. "I used a charm to make it bigger, not to reveal anything."

I nodded, everything started to come together and make some sort of fucked up sense. But then something else came to mind. "What about when you were outside Dumbledores office and said something about the doctor saving someone?" I asked, vaguely remembering.

Marlene looked genuinely baffled. "The boys and I followed you to Dumbledores office one day and you were in there for a while before coming out and looking upset. You were saying something about a doctor and someone needing saving or something." I tried to make her remember but she just looked more confused.

Marlene suddenly seemed to remember when I had about given up on the question. "Oh, I remember now. I-"Marlene cut herself off as she sighed, apparently not wanting to talk about it. "I knew you and the boys were following me so I said that because I was planning to pretend the baby didn't make it."

I put my head in my hands. How the hell had she managed to be so convincing and so thorough with her plan? "What?!" I was so angry I wanted to just storm out of the room, but I still needed answers. "You were just going to say the baby died?! And then what?" I paced around the small room, not wanting to look at her.

"I don't know, I thought once I faked the baby's death then you wouldn't be with me anymore. I was planning to wait until the due date before doing it and then have a little funeral for it or something. I thought that if we went through all that together then you would stay with me." I turned to look at her. Was she fucking crazy?

"Really? You were planning on just saying the baby died and then having a funeral for it so that what? I could stand there thinking that my son had died, or regretting not going to Dumbledore or McGonagall to make sure you were getting to right care while you were pregnant? Do you know how fucked up that is?" I looked Marlene right in the eyes as I said this. I could see her start to cry and for the first time, I didn't care at all. "Do you know how much you put me through? I was already going through so much shit without you adding to it."

Marlene was fully crying now, trying to mumble out some apology. But I couldn't feel sorry for her. Not after what she did. Instead I turned and left with only two last words.

"We're done."
