I need to talk to you. I didn't want to bring up what's going on with Marlene or what happened between us in the hospital wing with the boys or my parents in the room and I don't think you would have wanted me too either. I'm still needing to stay at St. Mungos for about a week, can you come visit me again? Just you this time and I will make sure my parents won't be there. Send me a letter with your answer.

-Remus

I read through Remus' letter fully as I'm sitting on my bed. It's almost 2 am and the boys had finally gone to sleep. I quickly grab a quill and some parchment before I try to write. I stare down at the parchment as I try to think of what to write. Should I go to see him? I really want to but the thought of being in a room alone with him makes me nervous.

I'm slightly startled by Remus' straightforwardness of the situation but I guess I shouldn't be surprised. He was always the sensible one. I quickly write out a response to Remus before putting the letter aside and going to sleep.

The next morning as I sat down at the Gryffindor table in the Great Hall with James and Peter, James seemed ready to burst with excitement. "Padfoot! Finally you're here!" I fill my plate up with breakfast food as I eye James. "What's got you into such a good mood this early?" Peter looked just as excited as James and was ready to blurt out whatever James was so happy about when James interrupted,"shhhhh Peter! I gotta tell him!" Peter quieted down and looked slightly disappointed at not being the one to share the news.

"Lily asked me out!" James blurted out loud enough for the whole of the Great Hall to hear. Several heads turned to look at James but he just ignored them and continued,"she came up to me this morning, Padfoot, and declared her love for me in front of everyone!" Peter was smiling now and nodding his head eagerly, as if to confirm it. Knowing James, this story was bound to be highly exaggerated but I listened anyways.

I need to find Lily today and thank her. I didn't really expect her to keep her end of the deal but I'm happy she did. I was never really friends with Lily until this year, probably because of the whole James thing, but I'm glad I had someone to go to. I felt bad for not going to the boys with my problems like usual but I was honestly scared to. What would they say if they found out about me liking Remus? Or about Marlene and I having a kid. Honestly, I do need to tell them sometime soon, especially about having a kid. They would find that out no matter what.

After breakfast, and a highly exaggerated story, I went to send my letter to Remus. As I was on my way to the owlery, I couldn't stop thinking about if I made the right decision about seeing Remus in the hospital wing. I had decided not to see Remus. It wasn't that I didn't want to see him, I just didn't know if I could handle it considering everything going on. What would I even say?

After I sent my letter off with one of the school owls, I went back to the common room to find either the boys or Lily. As I entered the common room I found all three sat my the fire. Peter was smiling widely in his large armchair and James was sat (proudly I should say) on top of Lily on the couch, probably breaking her legs.

"James! Get off me!" Lily yelled hopelessly as James leaned his head upon hers and wrapped his arms tightly around her neck. I laughed a little at the sight of them. "I can't breathe James!" Lily tried again and this time James loosened his grip on her slightly. "I see you finally followed your heart, Lily," I sat as I sit on the armrest of Peter's armchair. "Sod off, Black," Lily said as she tried to push James off of her.

"You know mate, usually it's the girl who's on top." Peter piped up as James and I chuckled, clearly taking it the wrong way than Peter had intended. "That's only during sex, Wormtail." Lily made a face of disgust at James' comment and shoved him off of her completely. But before she could get away James grabbed her by the waist and pulled her back onto the couch, this time with her sitting on his lap.

"Maybe you're right after all, Pete. She seems to like this better," James laughed as Lily twisted around to look at him. "Why can't we just sit next to each other? Don't make me take back going on a date with you," Lily threatened as she glared at James. James gave Lily a fake pout and hugged her around the waist tighter. "But Lillly," James said as he leaned his head towards her. Lily twisted away and tried to pry his fingers off of her,"the only reason I'm going out with you is because of Sirius."

James' eyes turned to me as she said this and I hoped to Merlin she wouldn't tell him about our little deal. "What do you mean?" James asked Lily before turning to me,"what did you do, Padfoot?! Tell me your secret!" James grinned widely as I sat there not knowing what to say. "We made a deal that if he asked Remus out that I had to-" I hushed Lily but it was too late. The words were already out of her mouth and James and Peter had perfectly understood her.

"Wait...what?" If they would have thought Lily was joking, then my face would have given it away that she wasn't. I looked to Lily and saw she was looking at me," Oh Merlin, Sirius, I'm so sorry...I thought they knew."

"You asked Remus out?!" James practically yelled but it was muffled as Lily put her hand over his mouth. I stared at Lily and James for a bit longer before getting up and running up the staircase to the dormitories. I didn't turn around to see Peters expression or to even check to make sure nobody else in the common room had overheard.
