               ~*~Five years later~*~

The London air was warm as Remus and I strolled down the block, taking in the view of the busy street in late July. "Are you sure this is an appropriate gift, Sirius?" Remus questioned me as I looked around at the tall buildings. "Of course, why do you worry so much?" Remus shook his head at me as we made our way towards a large neighborhood, the streets lined with trees. We were on our way to Lily and James' house for their son Harry's birthday. After living a few years in a small town called Godric's Hollow, they had decided to make the move to London.

As we approached the small house our friends lived in, Remus gave a polite knock at the door which was interrupted by James swinging it wide open. "Padfoot! Moony! Come on in, the others are already here." As we walked in we were bombarded by people greeting us.

We settled into the living room as Harry was about to open his gifts. Remus handed over the gift from us as Lily sat down with Harry on the floor. Other than the Potters, Remus, and me, there was also Alice and Frank Longbottom with their son Neville, and Mary and Peter (who were still dating).

After opening several presents, Lily and Harry finally came to the gift Remus and I gave Harry. "It's so nicely wrapped, I bet Remus did it," Lily teased me as she opened the gift for Harry who had seamed more interested in the package than the present. Before I could respond to Lily, she had opened the package and out flew a ball. It raced around the room as Lily screamed and grabbed Harry.

"I'll get it," I jumped up and grabbed the ball as it flew by, falling onto my back by the force of it. "Sirius! You gave him a bludger?!" Lily screamed at me as I secured the bludger in the case that it had escaped from. "Your sons gonna be Gryffindors best beater, besides me of course, that's ever lived! Look I even got him a bat. Pair these with the broomstick I gave him last year and he's all set!" James laughed and jumped up from his spot," you got it all wrong Padfoot, he's gonna be a chaser, isn't that right Prongs Jr.?"

While James and I laughed it off, Lily looked livid. "His names Harry, and he's two years old for Merlin's sake. That bludger is bigger than him! Remus, I can't believe you agreed to this." Remus was quick to defend himself as I knew he would.

"I didn't know it was a real bludger! Sirius told me it was fake," Remus said pointing in my direction, leaving me with the fuming ginger.

As the party went on, Lily calmed down a bit. After presents we cut the cake and settled down in the living room to talk. Harry and Neville played on the floor with the new toys Harry had got. I couldn't help but notice that Harry seemed to like the bat Remus and I had given him. Though Lily had hide the bludger in the hallway closet.

"What are you two doing these days?" Lily asked Remus and I. Her eyes mostly focused on Remus. I reckon she's still a bit mad at me. I listened as Remus answered her, telling her all about his new job.

As we continued catching up with each other, we learned that Alice and Frank still worked as Aurors for the Ministry of Magic, Mary and Peter had gotten engaged and moved in together, and Lily had finally given up her job to be a stay at home mum.

I had gotten the chance to catch up with other people since Hogwarts too, recently. After graduating from Hogwarts I had met up with Hugh, my muggle friend, and learned what happened with him and Gwen. After getting catch up with the muggle police, Gwen and Hugh continued to spend time with each other. But not even a year later, she up and left for America. Hugh was left quite heartbroken at her sudden departure but is quite excited when he receives an occasional postcard or letter from her.

Hugh never left London, he inherited his parents house and I think he was too scared to leave for fear of losing contact with Gwen. He has an office job and we try to meet up every week.

Marlene is another person I meet up with after Hogwarts, though it was not intentional. I last saw her two years ago, she was married to a man I remembered from Hogwarts though never talked to. Last I heard she was divorced and left to live with her sister.

After catching up with everyone at the Potters house and wishing my godson a happy birthday, Remus and I headed home. "When we get home stay in the kitchen, I have a surprise for you," Remus said as he grabbed my hand, leading me towards our place. "What for?" Today was Harry's birthday, not mine.

"Just because," Remus smiled as we walked up to our front door and swung it open. "Stay here," Remus said as he dropped my hand in the kitchen and rushed to our bedroom. I stood in the kitchen, looking around Remus' and my home. We had moved in together right after we graduated, the living room was covered in pictures of the boys and I with some pictures including Lily, Harry, Mary and the Longbottoms. None of the pictures had frames and were scattered around the walls, uneven. Lily always insisted on fixing it when she came over, but I thought it was perfect.

Remus came out of the bedroom a moment later, "close your eyes." Remus smiled at me as I rolled my eyes and listened to him. "Okay, actually sit down for this, but keep your eyes closed," I did as he said, just wanting to skip this and know what the surprise was.

"Okay, open your eyes." I do as he says and find Remus kneeling in front of me. Remus suddenly looks down and I follow his face to find a puppy. "Remus! It's a fucking puppy," Remus chuckles at me. "Glad you know your animals, Padfoot."

"He looks just like me though, Moony!" I was right. From the little black nose to the top of its tail, it looked exactly like my animagus form, just puppy sized. I quickly picked up the puppy and put him in my lap, running my hands through his long black hair.

"That's why I got him. I knew I could give you a better son than Marlene." Remus laughed to himself as I nodded my head," Well for starters, yours is real. And he's looks like me!"

"You've mentioned that," Remus grinned, happy that I liked the puppy. "You gotta pick a name for him. Let me guess, Padfoot Junior?" I shook my head, smiling. "Well that can be his nickname I guess."

"Well, what's his real name then?" Remus said as the puppy got up from my lap and ran around the kitchen.

"John."

And with that being said, I stood up and transformed into my animagus form. John looked quite surprised at first but was soon curious and came to sniff me. After a moment he decided he liked me. "Let's get you boys outside," Remus spoke as he opened the door, letting us into the backyard. With me in the lead, John and I bound into the yard and began to play.

After I had gotten a family of my own, it had got even better than I thought imaginable. And from this day forward, I would treasure every moment spent with Remus and John.
