Vada Jewel Jones (Vay-duh)

Its been 12 years since the day I lost contact with my mom, dad, and my sister, Myla. I should be sad about it but I mean it was literally a decade ago.

It left a mark on me but, thats life. I never got to introduce myself, well my name is Vada Jewel Jones. Im now 17 years old and completely lost. Ive been in 6 different foster homes since I was 5.

But as of now im in the worst state of life anyone could imagine. I live with a quite little family. I been living with these people for about a month or two. One other thing about this family, Im getting beat everyday by my foster father.

The first time he did it. I was in the shower minding my damn business. He bust in there and beat me. Yes I fought for my life and I try to run away but how could I? Due to me being in the government as a problem child, No one believes me.

In the family I live in, The man name is Darren, his wife Kendra, and there 2 sons Kenny and Brasi, Brasi is 10 and Kenny is 9. The beatings started a week after I moved in. I don't understand why he beats me but I just said it was because im ugly.

But then again he probably just don't like me. I have a smart ass mouth and them kids! Man I hate them muthafuckas. His wife,Kendra aint no good either.

She tried to beat me too but I fought back and she not dared touched me again. But Darren enjoys when I put up a fight.

"Vada! Get up dawg!" Brasi yelled in my ear as I slept on the couch in the living room, also known as my bedroom.

"What man." I groaned and rolled over.

"My dad said yo ass gotta take us to Game Stop." He stood in complete anger. I really wish Darren wouldn't raise his kids to hate me so much. They ass will never get a woman.

"Alright, Alright. Be by the door give me 5 minutes."

"Hurry." He ranted, I wouldn't dare cuss Brasi nor Kenny out while we were home cause I'd have to put up with the consequences so I'll say something later.

I picked myself up off the hard couch as I was dressed with black sweat pants and a white tank top. I quickly grabbed my sweatshirt out of my bag and slipped it on.

I put on my Nike slides and grabbed the keys and headed out with the boys behind me. Im guessing Darren and Kendra are upstairs.

I got in the car with Brasi in the passenger seat and Kenny in the back .

"What yall getting out of Game stop?" I asked softly.

"None yo damn business." Brasi glared my way, he acts JUST like Darren.

"Don't be so mean Brasi, she just being nice. Where's your chill?" Kenny stood up for me and I smiled. He always been so nice to me.

"Thanks Kenny." I smiled as I parked the car, arriving at Game Stop.

"Your welcome sis." He cheesed. If anything he is the only one I like and I consider family. He tries his hardest to stick up for me.

He runs and hides when Im being punished. One time I got beat for not having dinner ready, I was forced to sleep in the cold basement with no cover or sanity.

It was about 3 in the morning and I was still awake, freezing to death. Kenny guided me into his room where I got to sleep in a nice warm bed for a chance. He has been my only hope ever sense then.

We got out the car and realizing it is quite windy outside, I pulled my hair into a low ponytail.

Kenny grabbed my hand and Brasi basically ran off to the store.

As we walked in hand in hand the store it was mainly empty with only a couple people inside but I was honestly hoping that the boys take their time finding whatever they were looking for because Im not only scared, but im afraid to go home.

*

We browsed the store from top to bottom and the boys came up with 4 games, Grand theift Auto & 2k 17 for the PS4 and some kung fu panda game for Kenny's Xbox1.

We walked up to the register and there was this guy arguing.

"Look man! I placed my order weeks ago and yo ass telling me yall sold it to anotha muhthafucka!" The guy which seemed to be around my age yelled.

"Sir, im sorry for the inconvenience but I aint work the shift. Someone must have sold it im truly sorry." The man pleaded.

"Aint no damn sorry! I want my shit!-" The unknown man yelled, I cut him off.

"Im sorry to interrupt this you guys but you guys are kinda getting a crowd." I said softly, Brasi glared at me while Kenny just smiled down at his games.

The man behind the register mouthed the words, 'Thank you'.

"And who are you?" The angry guy spun around and the anger in his eyes suddenly turned into lust.

"Im Vada, Im kinda in a rush to get home." I lied, I just don't want this unknown guy to do something he will regret.

"Well Vada, I would deny your offer but gosh your beautiful. Gimmie your number and I'll let this whole game thing go." He said and I blushed as butterflies fluttered in my stomach.

I pulled out my small HTC android ass phone and handed it to him. He released a chuckle. Only reason I have this ugly ass phone is cause Darren got it for me. He has a tracker in it, just so I don't run away, plus he needed a way to contact me.

The guy typed in his name and number and I did the same.

He handed his phone back and I looked at the name, Lawrence.

"Nice to meet you Lawrence." I smiled and so did he. Lawrence stood at about 5'11 with chocolate skin. He came off as a pimp lookin ass nigga but I didn't let it bother me. For all I know he could be a church boy, I can't judge him like that.

"Likewise.Stay in touch lil mama." He said as he drifted out of my sight and I was pulled back to reality as I watched Brasi pay for the games, his spoiled ass has a credit card.

"Im so telling daddy darren bout this." Brasi side eyed me and my heart fell to my ass.

Man I wish I was with my mother and sister again...
