It was the morning after.....my brother that Narcissa informed me that we were to attend a ball. That night I sat down in a chair with an amazing blue dress on. It belonged to Narcissa when she was young. I sat there brushing my hair. I decided I'd leave it down. I never really do.Then again when you're working with potion ingredients that could potentially burn it off, I think it best to leave it up in a ponytail. I look at myself in the mirror.
My bright blue eyes, my soft slightly tanned skin, my dark brown hair that falls down to my ribs. I place the hairbrush down on the vanity. I sigh as my door opens. "Opal dear are you okay?" Narcissa says walking up behind me. "Yes. I was just getting ready" I say standing up. "You look beautiful" She says standing straight. Its odd how she treats me. Since I'm a Gryffindor and all. My father once told me that she'll stop at nothing to protect her family. Does she count me as her family? Surely Not. Sometimes I wonder of what I'm going to do to stop the wedding.
I admit I'm not the most graceful person. I say that because I would have slipped down the stairs if it weren't for Draco. Draco of which was wearing a black suit. For some reason it just suited him. Lucius and Narcissa looked well.I'm not biggest fan of dancing so tonight is more of a trek than a time of fun. As most partys are.
When we arrived I noticed a few of my father's comrades. Thank Merlin that parents were not attending. My brother on the other hand is. I will never hear the end of the insults. He'll point out every flaw. Whether it be a hair out of place or looking weird I'll ignore him like always. As we entered I saw a mass group of people. At least we are not the first to arrive. We may well be one of the last. There's people dancing, people eating, people talking and some people sitting alone watching. As soon as I turned around I saw Lucius and Narcissa have left to talk to a dark haired woman who is standing next to a grey haired man with a handlebar moustache. "Who's even organized this?" I ask Draco who's hand I was clinging to for dear life. "Does anyone really even know?" Draco says shaking his head. I smile as he leads me to the dance floor.
The song has changed into a waltz. I'm not the greatest dancer but I can at least to a waltz. I admit it is quite fun to dance in a big group of people. These people seem much, much older than Draco and I. Some of them look extremely snobbish and stuck up but others seem kind. Then again who looks can be deceiving. After a while we walk outside into the cold, night air. "I never told you but you look beautiful" Draco says. "Thank you"I say smiling. I keep thinking about yesterday what would have happened if my brother wouldn't have intervened. After a while we go back inside because being out in the rain the day before and being in the cold today was a sure fire way to get sick
When we came back I spotted my brother. I sighed and rolled my eyes as he walked up to me. He bowed his head and said "May I?". What this slimy git up to now? Whatever I take his hand as he leads me to the dance floor. As he dances with me he says "Never thought I would say this to you but you look quite nice" . "Okay where's the side remark about how to colour of the dress makes me look poorly" I ask twirling. "No where" He says with a smirk "I don't believe are you in a good mood?" I Say in disbelief. "I guess I am" He says shrugging. "Hm you must be happy now that you have the dark mark"I say quietly but casually.
He stops hearing the last words of that remark."Why do you think I have a dark mark?" He asks. "I heard you last night"I say standing up straight. I mean I'm tall enough but nothing is tall compared to him. He breaths heavily out of his nose and says "I have no idea what you're talking about" he then turns on his heels and walks out. I smile away to myself. Ah, my brother the deatheater
