Lucy's POV

I was sat in the living room with Elizabeth who was busy playing with her toys. I was scrolling through some pictures of me, Riker and her seeing as Riker was on tour and had been for the last four months. Even though we have been apart several times before I still find it tough him being away for so long. He missed Elizabeth's first steps... She hasn't said her first word yet... But she has been close on several occassions. I look at the time and get up and pick her up. "C'mon baby we are going to see daddy. He is coming home" I say as I strap her into the car. I see how her eyes light up at the mention of her daddy. I smile and kiss her forehead before driving to the airport.

When we arrive I take her out of the car and carry her into the terminal. I stand at wait until I hear Riker's flight number announced. The door opens and I see a flash of blonde hair in the crowd. Elizabeth opens her little mouth and say very loudly "Daddy!"

Riker's POV

As we enter the terminal I hear a shout of 'daddy!' I look up and see Lucy putting down Elizabeth. "Oh my God!" I exclaim before crouching on my knees and opening my arms out to take hold of my daughter. "Look how big you have gotten!" I say as I stand and keep her close to my body. "Missed you" she quietly says as she nuzzles her head further into the crook of my neck. "Missed you too baby" reply softly stroking her hair. I look up and see my wife smiling at me. I hand Elizabeth to Ross before picking up the pace and taking Lucy into my arms before kissing her softly. "I missed you Riker" she says thickly. I smile at her "I missed you too Lucy" I reply. We leave the terminal and Lucy drives us back home.

When we arrive home I take Elizabeth out of the car. "Rike, I'm just going to put Elizabeth to bed okay?" she asks as she takes her from me and opens the front door while I then grab my bags from the trunk of the car. I follow Lucy in and put my bags in the bedroom. As I pass the nursery I see Lucy bent over the cot singing Elizabeth to sleep. She then kisses her forehead and straightens up. "You still think she's a daddy's girl?" I ask as I take her into my arms on the couch. "Her first word was 'daddy' not 'mommy'" she answers sadly. "I wish I could have been here to help look after her" I think aloud as Lucy intertwines our fingers. "I wish that too baby" she agrees before I softly kiss her cheek. We stay like this for sometime longer before I say "I'm going to head to bed Lucy." "Okay Riker" she answers as I stand and kiss the top of her head. Just as I open the door I hear her say "I'm glad your home baby" I turn back to her. "So am I Luce. So am I"

Nine years later...

Lucy's POV

"Elizabeth c'mon we have to go" I shout up the stairs. "Coming mom!" My ten year old daughter yells back. I have no idea where the time has gone. After a couple more minuets she comes down the stairs with her r5 pick necklace that her dad had given her when she was little. I pull the door open and she goes to the car as I close the door. We climb in and make our way to the lynches. It was Ross's birthday and we were all going over to them to celebrate. Riker had been there for a couple if hours previously to help set up. As I drive I take a quick glance at Elizabeth. She has Riker's hair and eyes but she has the same shaped face as me. However, even though when she was younger I was the main one who looked after her she is a daddy's girl. I knew it would happen. "Mom you okay?" She asks and I smile at her. "I'm fine sweetie" I reply. She then turns on the radio and I suddenly yell in pain. The car starts to swerve "mom!" She screams suddenly everything stops and goes black.

Elizabeth's POV

After the accident we were rushed to the hospital. The impact knocked mom unconscious cause her side took most of the impact. I only had minor cuts. I sit in the waiting area outside of her room, head bowed and trying not to cry. I hear footsteps coming closer. I look up as my dad and uncles and auntie Rydel and Ellington rush towards me. Dad takes me into his arms and holds me close as I cry into his shirt. "Sssshhh don't worry baby girl I'm here" he coos like he would do when I was younger. "Daddy I'm scared." I whisper. "So am I Liz but your mom is strong. She'll pull through" he answers before kissing my forehead. "The family of mrs Lucy Lynch?" A doctor asks and dad stands up and quickly rushes over to him. "How is she?" He asks and I hear a tone of fear in his voice. The doctor and him talk for a bit longer before dad is let into moms room. I stand and try to follow him however uncle Ross stops me. "Let him have some time with her first" "no. I want my mom!" I exclaim before pulling out of his grip and following the way my dad took.

I am met with the sight of mom lying in a bed with several monitors around her. The sound of beeping fills the room. I walk closer and I also hear the sound of dad crying. I come even closer trying not to be heard but that didn't work. Dad rounds on me. "ELIZABETH MARIE LYNCH WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!?" He exclaims. I back away in fear "I-I wanted to see mom" I reply quietly as tears fill my eyes. Dad never screams like that at me. But when he does I get really scared. "Out" he says plainly. "But-" "I said out!" He yells. I turn and rush out of the room into the arms of antie Rydel. "Come on sweetie lets take you home" she says as we leave the hospital. "Will mom be okay?" I ask once we are all in the van. "I'm sure she will be Elizabeth" she answer while uncle rocky runs a hand through my hair.

When I arrive home I run straight up to my room and collapse on my bed and start sobbing.

Riker's POV

I stay with Lucy for another couple of hours before I am told that I had to leave. I make my way back home and am met by my family who were just leaving. "How is she?" Rocky asks. I sigh. "She is in a coma. They don't know if she will recover or if she is going to-" I let out a sob as my sister envelopes me in a hug. "Elizabeth is in her room" Ell says before they all leave. I make my way into the house and hear small cries coming from my daughters room. I softly knock before pushing open the door. "Liz?" I ask quietly "go away" she says her voice becoming muffled by the pillow. I walk over and pull her small, fragile body into my arms. "I'm sorry for shouting at you. It's just that I am so scared that I may lose your mom. I guess that I also yelled cause I see so much of her in you." I say softly as I rock her back and forwards. "I'm sorry to dad. I should have given you time with her" she answers. She leans up and kisses my cheek. "I love you dad" she says while she cuddles into my shirt. "I love you too baby girl" I answer before I start to sing her to sleep and replay moments spent with her and Lucy in my mind.
