Merida's P.O.V
It has been a week since our two week winter break ended and Hiccup and Rapunzel still aren't back! I've called all the friends of the family but no one has seen them. I never watch the news but today I think I might. In my exasperation I switch on the news and nearly throw up everything I have eaten today.
*News captions*
Car drove off cliff three weeks ago. Young teenage boy still in coma with mother in urgent care. Family still unidentifiable. From new developments it looks like there were two other people in the car but were cut out of the seat belts. Family members are unknown and still missing. Any information please inform the police and hospital. The boy and his mother are currently at Berk Hospital.

I drop the remote on the floor once I see the photo of Hiccup. Hiccup and Rapunzel went off a cliff!? I quickly rush to Eugene and Jack's room. Eugene has a thing for Rapunzel and Hiccup is their best friend so they might want to know. I barge in to find the rest of my friends sitting around the tv. Anna and Elsa are sobbing and Eugene looks like he's seen a ghost.
"So you saw it then?" I ask them receiving a simultaneous head nod.
"Let's go." Kristoff says picking a still sobbing Anna off of the floor and grabbing his car keys. Jack quickly calls Manny and tells him we will need a few days off of classes to which he agreed to under the circumstances. We all hop into Kristoff's SUV for the half hour drive to Berk. Once we arrive in the small town we drive straight to the hospital. Jack had already called the police station and had arranged a meeting there. I leapt from the car before it even stopped and run to the front desk.
"Where are they keeping Hiccup and Valka Haddock!" I scream at the lady attracting eyes.
"I'm sorry ma'am I don't see their names registered." The young woman cooly tells me.
"My gosh woman! They are the I identified patients from the car crash!" I scream receiving a gasp and more attention.
"Relations to the patient."
"I AM HIS GIRLFRIEND PLEASE!" I finally sob. Jack puts his arm on my shoulder to let me know I need to calm down.
"We are his cousins please ma'am. We need to see him." Elsa sobs as well indicating to her and Anna. The members in the hospital look at us with pity. I hate it.
"Right this way please." A young nurse tells me. I wipe my tears and follow her.
"The boy you mentioned, Hiccup is in here." The woman says blocking the door.
"Well what are you waiting for! Let us in!" I groan in frustration. The woman sighs and looks at me with sympathy in her eyes.
"Ma'am you are going to need to remain calm once we walk into this room. This is very important because he can hear everything you say. If you begin to freak out and he goes into shock there may not be anything we can do for him. But I will warn you- I'm so so sorry, we had to amputate his leg." The woman tells us. I cover my mouth with my hands and back up trying not to sob as she opens the door. He is covered in cuts and bruises. He has stitches on his cheek and has a bandaged stump on his leg where they had to amputate it.
"H-Hiccup?" I stutter as I sit beside him and grab his hand. I hear a beeping and look to see that his heart rate sped up a bit. I chuckle lightly at the effect I have on him even when he is in a coma.
"I'm here. You did quite a number on yourself pal." I chuckle sadly again before it turns into a small sob.
"You have to wake up Hic. I need you. You can't stay like this please. You have to wake up for me. Please." I start sobbing uncontrollably now. Eugene has to escort me to the hall because Jack is busy with a silently sobbing Elsa.
"It's going to be okay. He is alive. Hiccup is strong he can pull through this." Eugene comforts me as he pulls me into one of his amazing hugs. I pull away once I calm down but then feel awful.
"I'm being selfish. Here you are having to be the brave one when I at least know my boyfriend is alive. The girl you like, my best friend, we don't even know if she is alive." I start crying softer again. I hug Eugene as he hugs me back and strokes my hair. I feel something wet fall on my shoulder and look up to see Eugene is slightly crying now too. Eugene never cries. I realize now that it is my turn to be the strong one. I dry Eugene's tears and my own before marching confidently into the room again. I'm not playing around.
"Okay listen up idiot." I say smacking my hands into his bed.
"You are going to wake up if It kills you. Your twin is missing and you're the only one who even has a clue to what happened. She and your father are never going to be found if you don't wake up. You need to wake up now. You're a fighter so come on you can do it. I love you! Come on!" I scream. The nurse jumps, clearly startled.
"Miss screaming is not going to help the patient maybe you should come outside-" she tries to bring me outside when a single voice stops us.
"I love you too Mer."
