Rapunzel's P.O.V
I am currently stressing over my exams. Being gone those two weeks made me loose a lot of time in class so now it's crunch time trying to learn all the material I missed.
"What's on your mind Blondie?" My study partner says flicking my nose.
"You forget I'm not Blonde anymore, Eugene." I say slamming my head against the table then slightly wincing, forgetting about my fragile skull at the moment.
"Good God Rap! Don't do that!" Eugene shouts as tears of pain prick my eyes and I hold my head.
"I'm fine." I say through grit teeth, "let's just keep studying." I try and reach for my History book across the table but Eugene snags it from my reach.
"Eugene!" I whine and pout my lower lip like a little kid.
"No Rapunzel. You're head needs a break. Come on, let's take a break." He says picking up all my books for me. I sigh knowing I can't argue, it's pointless. He grabs my wheelchair and starts wheeling me to the door. My arm is still broken and so is my leg so I can't operate crutches. Therefor I need a buddy everywhere I go.
"Where are we going?" I ask as I notice we are leaving campus.
"Out. You can take a nap if you want. It's a two mile walk." He says sweetly making me tear up, probably mostly from my pain meds making me emotional but still, sweet. He is volunteering to push me, a 127 pound 5'4, invalidated teenage girl two miles just so she could have a break then offering to let her sleep because he knew she was tired?
"Uhh, Rap? You're crying?" He says concerned once I realized a test was falling down my face. Oops!
"Ah no, just the sun in my eyes." I say quickly wiping it away. He raises an eyebrow, still unconvinced, but says nothing. I sigh and stuff my jacket under my head and decide to sleep. Better if I don't embarrass myself anymore.
A little while later I wake up to Eugene telling me we are here. The local bakery! Awe, he knows that this is my favorite place to go once I become stressed. Whaaaat? Sometimes all a girl needs is a chocolate chip muffin and a nice espresso.
"Awe thank you!" I sigh as I squeeze one of his hands on the wheel. But it feels different. I look up and see one of the Stabbington Brothers instead, and the other dragging Eugene away. Everyone is too shocked to move or help, figuring it was just some highschool fight over a girl. Which, if the circumstances were difference, I would have thought that too but this is kidnapping.
"Hello Sunshine." I think, Earl, says while Jacob has a struggling Eugene. They were currently punching and kicking each other while Earl pulls something out of his pocket. It is sharp looking and glints in the sunlight. A switchblade.
"Rapunzel!" Eugene shouts my name as he sees what is going on. He runs to try and help me but is tackled by Earl and forced to watch as Jacob pull back his arm.
"NO!" I scream as I wake up.
"Woah woah woah! Hey Blondie calm down people are starting to stare." Eugene jokes but then I notice people are looking. His expression softens when he notices he silent tears falling down my face and crouched down on one knee in front of me.
"Hey, I was only joking. What is it." He says holding my hands, the one in the cast lighter than the one not.
"We aren't going to the bakery right!" I sniffle slightly.
"No but if you want to-"
      "NO!"
"Okay! Rapunzel what is going on!" He asks after I'm done with my outburst and my wracking sobs become smaller and I start to sniffle. I explain to him the dream as his warm and welcoming eyes peer into my emerald ones.
"Hey. It's okay. I'm taking you to the ice cream shop. Besides, I'd beat Earl in a fight any day." I laugh slightly at this last part as he brushes a piece of hair out of my red and swollen eyes, "I won't let anything happen to you. Come one." He grabs the wheel chair handled and pushes me towards the ice cream shop Sweet Scoops.

Eugene's P.O.V
I left Rap outside to gather her thoughts while I went in to grab ice cream. I ordered us a brownie hot fudge sundae to share with extra whipped cream, knowing she liked the light and fluffy substance. They quickly made it so I paid and walked outside to find her staring longingly at the park. I set the sundae on her wheel chair tray between us and plop in two spoons.  She smiles a thank at me as she takes a bite with extra whipped cream before looking back out at the park.
"Whatcha thinking about?" I ask propping my elbows on my knees and taking a bite of ice cream.
"Look over there." She says pointing into the park. I follow her gaze and finger to find a little boy and his dad wrestling with the little sister jumping around cheering them on. She sighs sadly before continuing. (A/N: Warning. Minor fowl language in the next dialogue.)
"It's hard to think that that used to be me and Hiccup. Now look at us. My dad is dead. A psychopath was after us. Hiccs has one leg, I can't walk yet, and the world doesn't seem to give a damn!" She finally screams in her frustration. Woah. I never knew she had that much anger pent up inside of her.
      "Rapunzel-"
"I know, language." She smiles sadly and weakly. We sit there silently for a moment as the wind slightly blowers her brunette locks back from her face. The sun rays fell down perfectly so that they castes shadows in her eyes. I have never seen someone so broken, and sad, yet strong and beautiful in my whole life. I decided to make the moment perfect, but wound up making things awkward. Or so I think. I take my finger and wipe some whipped cream on her nose. She gasps slightly and crosses her eyes to look at the whipped cream on her nose. I laugh at her silliness before a devilish look comes over her face. She takes a bit of whipped cream herself and swats it on my cheek before I can jump away.
"Even." She says sticking her tongue out at me I chuckle at her childish antic, but happy knowing that my Rapunzel was still in there. I guess out of the emotion of the moment I grab her hand and use the other to wipe off the whipped cream. Then Rap surprises me and plants a sweet kiss on my cheek. I look at her in surprise and my eyes widen.
"You still had some whipped cream."  She blushes and returns to eating her ice cream. I stare at her a while until she looks up. I smirk and she turns away, face beet red even though I was the one staring at her. If onto she knew that I had wished the kiss had been on my lips rather than my cheek.
