Summer Dance

Rapunzel's P.O.V
     "Elsa I need help!" I cry out as my hair is being untamable again. It's grown out to my shoulders now but I'm just having an overall bad hair day.
     "Okay go shower right now and use this in your hair. When you're done come find me." She instructs handing me some formula for my hair. I hope this works Elsa.

Hiccup's P.O.V
     "And you're sure Astrid is over there and doesn't have a date?" I check with Jack.
     "Yup. Merida told me. She also hinted that she wanted you to ask Astrid." He winks at me. What does Elsa see in my roommate?
     "Okay I'm going over." I say walking to the room next door. I quickly nock on the door to be greeted by my twin in her robe and hair in a towel.
     "RAPUNZEL HOPE HADDOCK!" I shout at her.
     "HICCUP HORENDOUS THE THIRD!" She shouts back in her confusion.
     "Why are you answering the door in your robe! What if it was one of the other guys!" I say letting myself in and shutting the door.
     "Chill hiccup I have on clothes under this I just got cold." She rolled her eyes.
     "Oh. Well is Astrid here?" I should not have said that. The noise that followed was inhuman.
      "SQUEEEE! ASTRID! COME TO THE DOOR!" She squeals happily. Astrid pops out of Merida's room in a sky blue crop top and jeans.
      "Hey Hic." She says walking over, "What Punzie?" Rap runs away and hides behind the wall.
      "Hey Astrid.... Um well," I stutter and trip over my words as she raises a single eyebrow, "Oh Thor. Will you go to the dance tonight with me?" Her eyes widen and she stands there for a moment not saying anything.
     "You know what maybe this was a bad idea. It's probably a little rushed and sudden for you and-"
      "Hiccup-"
      "Sorry for wasting your time you probably-"
      "Hiccup! Oh my gods yes. Geez quit beating yourself up!"
      "See I knew you'd say no- wait what?"
      "Oh my Thor Hic. I said yes!" She laughs while my face becomes beet red. 
     "Oh well that's great! Uh yeah really good I should- I should head back now." I say literally tripping over the couch as I walk backwards to go to the door, "uh bye!"
     "Bye you dork." she laughs again while Punzie runs screaming through her dorm,
     "AHHHH I SHIP HICCSTRID!" Oh my gods what have I done.

Rapunzel's P.O.V
     "Elsa! It worked but I still need help! PLUS I HAVE NEWS!" I scream for my cousin.
     "One second Punzie I'm trying to do Merida." She shouts through the walls.
      "I can help." Astrid offers coming into my room, "I have to braid my hair every day." I nod and she pays for me to sit on the ground. I do so and she begins straitening my hair then giving me beach waves towards the end. Simple yet elegant, I love it!
     "Thank you my future sister in law!" I say hugging her.
     "My gosh Punzie it's one dance, it's not even a date!" She says nervously twisting her hair around her finger. I just blow a raspberry at her.
     "You don't know that. My brother doesn't ask just anyone to a dance you know." I say in all honesty because he doesn't.
     "W-well. Oh never mind let's just get ready." She stutters causing me to laugh again. I quickly, and reluctantly, slip out of my robe and sweatpants to change into my dress. It is a strapless lilac dress with a tight fit till my knees then it flares out with a slit. I throw on straps gold heals and go to help Astrid with her makeup. I quickly touch up her natural features and we step outside to meet our gorgeous friends and their boyfriends. Eugene and Hiccup were waiting for us. I quickly go and give him a peck on the cheek, much to his and everyone else's surprise. Tonight's the night, I'm gonna ask him out! Sure it's informal but he's taking his sweet old time asking me out so I'm going to do it.

Hiccup's P.O.V
"You're dress looks nice on you?" I tell Astrid but I'm pretty sure it came out more as a question.
"Are you trying to make small talk?" She shouts and laughs over the music. I can't help but notice how the lights reflect beautifully in her ocean eyes.
"Maybe." I offer as she laughs again. I love how I can make her laugh so easily and it doesn't sound forced or fake at all.
"Man I love this song!" She shouts again and starts dancing to it. I listen but all I can make it is some guy's high pitched voice and Taylor Swift.
"What song is this?" I ask, still being musically clueless.
"What have you been living under a rock?" She shouts back still dancing, "I don't want to live forever by Zayn and Taylor Swift!" Immediately I remember the song. It must have shown on my face because she starts laughing again. Immediately afterwords a slow song comes on. I recognize it as The Only Exception by Paramore.
     "Care to dance Mi'lady." I say mock bowing and offering my hand to her. She chuckles and accepts it with a curtsy.
      "I do accept my fine sir." She says making it my turn to laugh.

Merida's P.O.V
     I look and see Hiccup and Astrid dancing. I'm happy, they make a cute couple and they both deserve to be happy. Sure a part of me misses that but that's the aftermath of a breakup and in reality I just want what's best for both of them. I hear someone call my name do I turn around to find Snotlout.
      "May I please have this dance beautiful?" he asks being a gentleman for once.
      "You're being a gentleman," I note, "What's the occasion."
      "What can't I be one," I give him 'the look and he yields, "Fine. Hiccup gave me some tips."
     "Ah. And the truth comes out." I laugh as his face becomes red with embarrassment.
     "Want to dance or not."
     "There's the Snotlout I know! And just one dance." I say still laughing. He's my friend and I don't want him to feel bad. But just this once, I allow myself to enjoy it.

Eugene's P.O.V
     "So Eugene. Can I ask you something-" Rapunzel tries but Tiana and Ariel cut her off.
     "So ladies and gents! Time to announce your summer king and queen! Your king is... Eugene Overland!" Tiana exclaims. I apologetically leave Rap and head up on stage to accept my crown.
     "And our queen is the lovely Miss Rapunzel Haddock! Congrats guys!" Rap smiles and graciously accepts her crown as well. I look to Tiana. I already knew the winners and had a little speech prepared. She nods and hands me the mic.
     "Hey guys so I have an announcement for Rapunzel. So Rap, from King to queen, would you be my girlfriend?" She goes into shock for a second and freezes as our friends and peers awe. Then someone, probably Anna, starts a chanting of Eugunzel. Rap holds her hands up and I offer her the mic but she pushes it aside and instead places a light yet firm kiss on my lips while our friends cheer again. Now she accepts the mic.
     "I think that answers your question." She says holding my hand. Ariel comes over and holds our intertwined hands over our heads.
     "I give you the King and Queen!"
