Chapter 16
Young Do told me nothing about where we were going and it seems like we've been driving for hours! I tuned out and saw the trees and other cars passing by. I got so bored so I went to sleep. *1 1/2 hours later* Young Do: " Ari... Ari.. Wake up! We're here!" Ari: "hmmm what?" Young Do: " i said get up!" Young Do grabbed my waist and lead me out of the car. I slowly stumbled my way into where ever we were going. I was still half asleep but I thought to myself, why can't he just carry me? With him having abs and muscles... Abs.. Why am I thinking of this again? I heard him shuffling keys and opening a door. Wait, a door?!! That made me come to my senses and I pushed Young Do away from me. "WHAT THE HECK DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?!!!" I shouted but Young Do started laughing and that made me more pissed. He said between laughs, "A..ri *laughs* you still haven't *laughs* changed... What do you take me for? A pedophile? If so I'd be the hottest one." I replied, "SHUT UP! It was an instinct! Where are we anyways?" He answered with a more serious tone, " The painting and the outside has changed but the inside was never changed. It was left untouched after you left." "You mean... This is... Our.. " I said tearing up. "Yeah it absolutely is. I kept my promise Ri-Ri, I took care of our hideout all those years when you were gone. " I went towards Young Do and hugged him, "thank you. I knew I could trust you, thank you. This place holds my childhood. I stared into his eyes, "our memories, good and bad." And I hope that we'll make more Ri-Ri" he said. Young Do held out his hand and I took it as we step inside our hideout. At first glance you can see the warm blue painting on the walls and both sides on either sides of us had board on them with lots of postcards and souvenirs from places we went to together. When you look up, there are about 8 wires on each side and lots of pictures was pinned on them and some were hanging from strings. There are two desks on the far left corner and to the right there is a make shift fort with light green drapes and a huge post foundation. Inside, there's a sort of padding like a bed. Next to it, are 4 bean bag chairs and at the left far corner is a book shelf. On the far off corner was a keyboard and one guitar plus one mic. Behind us, there's a flat screen T.V. and a mini coffee table. Stuffed bears were everywhere and there were books left on the table. When you go to the next room, there's a mini kitchen with a conventional oven, portable gas stove, a sink, a microwave and a counter. On the other side, there's a tiny fridge and a pantry. In the middle, there's a wooden table and 4 chairs. Next I went to the last room, which was a bedroom. It has 2 twin sized beds and a night stand. Off to the side is a closet which is full of boxes of cd's and other things. Next to it was a tiny bathroom. In front of the beds were two drawers and in the middle was a flat screen T.V. This hideout used to be the basement of Young Do's uncle's house who lives abroad and he comes only ones a year. We had the idea of making this our hideout when we were 8, we asked Young Do's mom if we can use it because the house was owned by her. Of course she said yes so we put all the furniture in and painted the walls. That took for about a month after that, we decorated it. I always come here whenever things were rough at home or I just wanted to talk to Young Do. Only the three of us know about this place. Me, Young Do and his mom. Years passed by and we started to fill our hideout with memories of sadness and hapiness. Young Do went to turn on the light switch and the lights on the ceiling blinked as well as the one wrapped around the fort drapes. Meanwhile I got a box from the shelf and opened it. Inside there was a lot of tiny little things that hold many memories. First I took out a necklace with a puppy's paw as a pendant. That was when we first got Young Do's dog. He was so cute back then! I wonder how he looks like now. Next a tiny bow he got me when we went to the local market, that made both of our mom's worried. But it was so much fun! We brought so much useless stuff and talked to the sellers. Played lots of games and tried a lot of food. When we were going home, Young Do brought me a purple pin and put it on me. Thats when I started having feelings for him. Little did I know that it'll grow into something more but we couldn't actually date. Anyways, I saw my old glasses, I used to wear them but now I wear contacts. When I was a little girl, I used to wear glasses and have a ponytail on. I guess I was my school's clumsy nerd girl. But I didn't get bullied, not once because you can only imagine how much Young Do and my brother can break a person's face. I was also pretty popular with the boys but none of them even dared to get close to me or even talk. I closed the box then returned it to where it was. Next, I started looking at the pictures hanging, most of them where panorama shots of me and Young Do some place remarkable, playing games, us singing, at the beach, festivals, building a snowman or a sand castle. I noticed that there was a wire empty. "Ya Young Do.. Is this a date?" I asked. "Hmmm Is it?" He answered sarcastically. Then we started looking at old pictures of us together. "Hey look at that one, its when we were playing piano and its the time where I cracked my voice." "'I looked at Young Do and I started laughing, " hahahhahhahhahhah when you talked to me the later week, I thought you were some bodyguard." He fired back, " but it fits me now right?!" "Sure" I mumbled. We flipped on the next page and it was me being an anchorwoman at our middle school. "Ari, why don't you try out for anchorwoman at Jeguk? Hyo Shin is there" He said. " I don't know yet, I haven't considered it yet." We flipped to the next page then we were 8, I was at the hospital. It was when I fell and it was after my surgery. I was lying on my hospital bed and Young Do had his head down and he was holding my hand. " Your okay now right? You should be. You punched me in the face before" He asked. "Yes, I'm fine and I can punch you 10x stronger" I answered. We came to the last pages of the photo album, it was me and Young Do at age 3 and we were hugging each other in photo type shoot thing. We were in formal outfits, me in a dress and him in a suit. "Awhhhh gwi yeo weo (cute) !!!" " we had plump cheeks and big eyes." I said. He closed the photo album and looked at his watch. He faced me and said "Ri-Ri, not only did I want to show you this but I wanted to let you know that I'm still here for you and I waited for you to come back." He stood up and hugged me, "Everything was left as is because I knew you would come back. I mean, who could resist me?" Young Do said smiling. Me and Young Do started to look at our old "Ya! I can resist you for 10 years or more!" "Really? Well I know you would look at photos at least" suddenly he blind folded me. "YA! YOUNG DO!" I screamed, "relax Ari, its okay. But were getting out of here and back to the car and off to someplace, don't worry about time. Your mom agreed to this." We headed out of our hideout and into my car. I hate feeling clueless and not driving my own car. Anyways, I miraculously found my ipod and started playing lucky by EXO. Yeah right I'm lucky being stuck here with this idiot.
