The next day Sae woke up once again to the sound of her beeping alarm going "SH*T." Turning her head and squinting at the phone sitting on her desk counter, she sighed, saying to herself, "I really need to have some variations in my ringtones." Sitting up in bed, she looked at the mirror across the room; she looked like a mess. Heaving another sigh, she got out of bed and headed to the bathroom to take a shower. The hot water felt like a sort of small heaven, it was comfortable, warm, and distracted her from the events that were going to play out in two hours. After she had bathed, she brushed her teeth and put on some skin creams for her face. Just because she was a trainee didn't mean she had any excuse not to take care of her face.
Heading out of the bathroom in a towel, she rummaged through her closet to find clothes. This was when the thought of "Should I dress classy or casual. I mean, he's an idol..." rushed through her mind. But she immediately trashed the idea when she thought of his straightforwardness.
"Casual and classy. That's the way to go," Sae thought to herself as she pulled out an oversized high neck sweater and skinny jeans. The sweater was gray and the jeans blue, as per usual. Looking at her choice, Sae smiled and headed to the bathroom to change her clothes. Her clothes changed, Sae then tied up her hair and headed out of the restroom to put on socks, a silver necklace and brown boots along with a light brown cashmere coat. Looking at herself in the mirror again, she felt confident in how she looked. She then headed over to her desk where she opened her phone. 8:30 AM. Plenty of time. She exited her room with her bag and headed to the lobby of the company. Thirty minutes later, Jin showed up wearing circular framed glasses, a brown sweater along with a navy blue coat. Although Sae did not wish to admit it, she thought he actually looked quite nice. Entering the lobby, he gave her his usual flashing smile and told her "You look extremely pretty today, Sae-sshi."
She responded with her usual witty words: "You sure do know how to flatter someone. And plus, I know I look pretty today," she said, giving a flip of her ponytail. The two of them laughed together before Jin surprisingly took Sae's hand and led her outside. Although Sae was quite taken aback by his sudden movement, she intertwined her fingers with his and let him lead her to wherever their date was supposed to take place. As they walked, Sae looked at Jin worryingly. Shouldn't he be wearing a mask? This date could turn into a scandal if he wasn't careful. But Jin looked so jovial that Sae decided not to mind.
Minutes later, they reached a café. Café Sakura, a well-known café around the area. It looked welcoming and pleasant, just her type of date. As they entered hand in hand, the waitresses and waiters were surprised by their unusual guest. But they were hushed when Jin raised a finger to his lips and winked. The two were ushered to a table in the café away from the windows, away from any reporters. As they sat down, the two took hold of the menus sitting on top of the table. When they had decided what they wanted, the waiter rushed to their table and took their order, bowing his head and rushing hurriedly into the kitchen.
Looking at the flustered waiter, Sae chuckled and said, "It must be hard being a celebrity, your mere presence makes people flustered." Jin replied jokingly, "But when it comes to getting good service, being a celebrity is a whole lot better."
The two shared a laugh and continued to talk about common interests. In just a little amount of time, the two found out more about each other than they had ever thought they would. Later, their order arrived. Both, who had not eaten breakfast, enjoyed their meal thoroughly. As Sae sipped her milk tea through a straw, she heard a click in Jin's direction. She turned her head in his direction and asked, "Did you just take a f*cking picture of me?" But her tone not rude this time, rather, it was at ease. Jin smiled, "It's cause you look pretty. Yeppuen. I'm going to set this as my wallpaper," he said. Sae's eyes widened and she laughed, saying, "Aniyo! I probably look ugly in that picture!"
"You look pretty!" Jin exclaimed, setting the picture. "Oppa! Don't set the picture, it's embarrassing," Sae said as she reached for the phone. But Jin held his phone over his head in protection, laughing. This struggle went on for a couple of minutes before the two finally settled down again, finishing their meals. Sae pouted and muttered, "You know, you need to be fair about this."
Jin smiled, resting his chin on the palm of this hand. "Alright, alright. I'll be fair. Let's finish eating first, okay?" he said. Sae agreed with a smile. Once they had finished their meals, Jin and Sae both another argument on who should pay for the meal. But in the end, Jin convinced Sae to let him pay, or else he'd be embarrassed. As the two walked out of the café, they held hands again. At this moment, Jin pulled out his phone again and raised it in the air in front of them. Sae looked at the phone, confused.
"This was the fair I was talking about, let's take a picture together, I'll set it," said Jin softly to Sae. Sae nodded in understanding and gave a bright smile towards the camera. At that, Jin smiled and took the picture, setting it as his background.
"There, it's fair now. Is that okay?" he asked. Sae nodded and said, "Send that picture to me, I want to see it." Jin smiled and tapped at his phone again, sending it. Sae's phone rung with another "SH*T." In embarrassment, Sae looked down at her phone, regretting that she didn't change her ringtone. But Jin just laughed loudly, thinking the ringtone was funny.Hearing his bright laugh, Sae decided.
Maybe she wouldn't change her ringtone after all.
