The next few days were horrible, dark eye bags began to form under Sae's eyes as she thought about what she was going to do about the secret. She wanted to tell Jin, but with her members and her career at the line, she couldn't risk it. The worst part was that they had just started dating. As the days passed, both of her members tried their best to reassure her that it was all going to turn out fine.
But Jin didn't deserve this. He didn't deserve being involved in her facade of a subgroup or the fact that his girlfriend was lying to his face. But what could she do?
Absolutely f*cking nothing.
Even when she met Jin and the others as "Sai," her boy form, she felt horrible. She would casually put on a mask in front of them and act as if they had never met before. Even when Jin would ask why she looked so familiar, she would constantly avoid the question.
"So, I heard you're dating Sae?" she asked, a meek smile forming across her face. This was the only question she could think of at the moment to direct his attention away from the topic at hand. At the question, he smiled brightly and nodded enthusiastically.
"You know her, Sai-sshi?"
"Yeah. I mean we're part of the same group, just in different sub-groups," she replied, shrugging. Was it her imagination that played tricks on her eyes? Or did Jin look a bit troubled at the information he was given at the moment? Either way, he quickly returned to his normal expression.
Going home that day was horrible. She had to take off the adjustments that they made to her hair while thinking about what she was going to do about the secret. But really, it wasn't all that bad. But her character didn't allow you to think that keeping a secret was fine. Interrupting her thoughts, Sae's phone rang with a loud "SH*T." Groaning, Sae looked at it—the message was from Jin.
Genie: "Hey, do you want to hang?"
Sae: "Jin-ah, it's 8 PM, where do you want to go at this hour?"
Genie: "It's not where I want to go, it's where I want you to come?"
Sae: "Stop stalling, Genie boy. Tell me."
Genie: "Come over. My house. Bring your stuff."
Sae: "..."
Had he just asked her to come over to his dorm? And what did he mean by 'bring your stuff'? Did he want her to stay the night? So many questions raced through her head but she instinctively packed her necessities before texting him "I'll be right over." This may have been the most f*cked up decision she had made in her life, but she went anyway.
Arriving at their dormitory, she hesitated before ringing the doorbell. The door was answered by an irritated Namjoon who quickly brightened up when he saw that it was Sae at the door.
"Oh, Sae-sshi! Come in! Pailli, pailli!" he exclaimed, moving out of the way for her to come in. As she stepped into the home, Namjoon turned towards the kitchen and began shouting.
"Jin-hyung! Sae's here!"
A few moments later, Jin came out of the kitchen, holding a spatula in his right hand and a mixing spoon in his left. Seeing her, his face lit up with delight. She returned his smile, a little bit of her stress relieved at the sight of her boyfriend standing in front of her in a casual style.
"Go sit in the living room. I'll be done in a bit. Are you excited to taste my cooking?"
She smirked and teased him by replying with "Well, I don't know if your food is bad or good, so I hope I don't fall over as soon as I eat it."
At this he laughed, wrapping his arms around her as much as he could despite the cooking utensils in his hands. Leaning into her shoulder, he kissed her cheek before pulling away and heading into the kitchen to continue cooking. Sae could feel her face heating up before she quietly headed to the living room to sit down, where the rest of the boys sat watching "Weekly Idol."
Sitting down in an empty space, she watched silently with them until Hoseok crept up on her and almost scared her half to death.
"F*CKING ASS CRACK!" she cursed, almost jumping out of her seat. She could hear J-hope laughing in the background as the other members looked at her in surprise. Looking back at J-Hope, she hadn't the slightest idea why he did that. But as he looked up, he smiled.
"Your reaction is cute as always, Sae."
At his words, Sae's face turned red in bashfulness. Even though he was her mentor, she was humble and didn't accept compliments well from people. As he leaned closer to her, he was suddenly smacked lightly by a pan.
"OW!" he yelped as he scurried away from Sae.
"That's what you get for hitting on my girlfriend, pabo," said Jin as he looked irritably at J-Hope.
Looking up at Jin, Sae's eyes immediately softened as she finally was able to look upon her ever so caring boyfriend. As she stood up to greet him, he set the pan on the table before hugging her waist and giving her a light peck on the lips. Sae was a bit taken aback but laughed before wrapping her arms around his neck.
"Geez, hyung. Get a room," came a comment from Jungkook as he smiled teasingly. Jin laughed before he hugged her tighter just to get back at the young maknae. "I can hug my girlfriend openly whenever I want to, it's not like we're doing some R- rated stuff," Jin replied in a sarcastic fashion. At his comment, Sae gulped. Was this why he invited her to stay the night? No, she must be hallucinating.
In that moment, she prayed that this was not what she came here for because she definitely wasn't ready.
