Hello, there lovelies! I know I've been MIA for a bit, and I'm really sorry about that! I've been planning a collab with heeyitsm and I'll have more details on that soon. I'm thinking about adding more to my Harry Potter Story but shift the focus a bit. I'll keep you all updated on that, too. I'm still writing my blog (link in Bio) and I'm really busy with school right now. I'm dedicating this chapter to heeyitsm. You're an amazing writer, and I'm so excited to work with you! Now on to the long awaited chapter...

Chapter 19:

That night, Sophie had a dream. They had all fallen asleep after hours of reading and reminiscing, content and safe. But then Sophie had a dream.

It was dark. She was in a cave. A cavern. And there were voices. Her voice? She was calling to Keefe, telling him to come home, but her voice sounded mocking, even as she said the words. But it wasn't her speaking. And then she was Keefe, running, tripping, lost and falling. She was the voice again. Taunting and jeering, and then she was awake, disoriented, and dizzy, stretched out on her bedroom floor surrounded by her friends, her head on Fitz's shoulder.

She rolled over, trying not to wake her cognate. It didn't work. "Soph?" his voice was low and sleepy, confused, and she couldn't help but smile. "What's happening?"

"It's fine, Fitz. Trust me. Go back to sleep."

"Talk about it in the morning," he mumbled. Sophie was sure that if she didn't know him as well as she did she wouldn't have known what he said at all.

"Okay."

"Good." His arm, which had already been curled around her tightened against her slim form, and he pulled her closer, sleepily flicking her hair out of his face.

When Sophie woke up, she had no memory of her dream.

"Awww!!"

Sophie rolled over in her sleep, smiling when Fitz mumbled as he had to shift with her. However, for the second time in two days, she was spotted by her friend. Today, however, it was Biana and Linh standing over her, cooing like demented pigeons. Or, what was the word? Fangirls.

"Go away Biana."

"Is that any way to talk to your future sister in law?"

"Wha?"

"Go away Biana." The new voice was lower and more annoyed, and it took Sophie another second to realize it had come from Fitz. Still smiling she rolled over, careful to ignore Biana's squeal. "Morning Princess."

"Princess? Really Fitz?"

"Okay, so nicknames are not going to be our thing."

"Watch it. I only tolerate being called Soph because you're cute."

"Morning Soph."

Sophie laughed out loud, a high, clear sound that woke Dex up in the corner, and made Fitz smile. He decided right then and there that her laugh was his favorite sound in the world. But he didn't have long to savor the moment, as Linh was standing over both of them.

"As cute as you two are, and as funny as it is to watch you shut Biana up, Sandor says to get up." And when Sophie groaned and rolled away from Linh, the other girl just laughed and said, "Dex's mom hailed. Black Swan meeting in an hour."

"Did I really tell them we should do that today?" Sophie mumbled into her blanket. This time Fitz was the one to laugh, and as he reassured Linh that they would not, in fact, be missing the very important meeting, she decided that his laugh was her favorite sound in the world.

A half an hour later, Biana was fussing with her tunic, worrying it was too plain, Linh was brushing out her hair, sitting on the end of Sophie's bed, Dex, Fitz, and Tam were all dressed, in green, teal, and black respectively, and Sophie was trying to avoid wearing a dress.

"Biana it's not happening! Let it go!!"

"Fine! At least wear something cute!"

"When have I ever worn anything you deem cute?" Sophie was exhausted, mentally, from the last few days and, quite frankly, was bored with the conversation. Fitz laughed from across the room.

"She's stubborn, Biana, and she won't ever give in. That's one of the things I like about her."

When Biana had her automatic Fangirl reaction, Sophie disappeared into her closet and retrieved a plain, loose-fitting gold tunic and thick black leggings. "Thanks for the save, Fitz"

"No problem, Princess"

"Shut up."

"Make me."

"Well, I could inflict on you, but I doubt that's what you meant."

Fitz chuckled. "I was actually hoping for a kiss."

"Good luck with that."

"Let me know when it works."

"You'll be the first to know, trust me."

"Will you two stop telepathically flirting?" Dex muttered, and when Sophie laughed, Biana remarked on how she thought it was cute. Which led to a whole conversation on the perks and drawbacks of Sophitz, a conversation watched closely by an amused Linh and barely suffered by an annoyed Tam. While this occurred, Sophie slipped away to her bathroom, got dressed, and returned to a very, very different scene. Whereas before it had been a playful argument, Tam was now glaring at Dex, Linh was blushing and facing the wall, and no one was speaking.

"What happened? I was only gone for like 3 minutes."

"Well, this one," Tam angrily pointed at Dex, "Started hitting on Linh, so I pinned him to the wall with shadows, but then Biana made me drop him," Here he paused again as he looked at Biana. Sophie could have sworn she was blushing, "and Linh tried to calm me down, and then Dex got mad at me, so that one," he swirled his stiff arm towards Fitz, his harsh tone softening the tiniest bit, "yelled at us all until we all calmed down, and seriously how did you hear none of this?"

"I'm not sure. Wait. Did you say Dex hit on Linh? What?"

"I just said that blue is a good color on her. Geez."

"Okay. Tam, you're overreacting. Dex, work on your flirting, and Fitz, wait. Where's Fitz?"

While both Tam and Dex sputtered incoherent arguments with her statement, Sophie closed her eyes and extended her thoughts, tracking Fitz.

"Yes, Princess?"

"I told you not to call me that. Where are you?"

"You aren't tracking me?" He sounded surprised.

"It's called respecting privacy. I'm not reading your thoughts either. Answer please?"

"I'm right...here!" As Fitz finished the transmission, he spoke the last word out loud, wrapping his arms around Sophie's waist and causing her to squeal out loud, a sound no one had ever heard before. Before anyone could comment on her high pitched squeak, and before Sophie could scold her Cognate for scaring her, they were interrupted by traces of a scarily familiar voice drifting up from below.

"Sophie?... Moonlark. Kids are so..... there's a plan. The Neverseen..."
