"That lecture...was absolutely ear-throbbing!" Dawn complains, as she heads out the lab.

"Yeah, I never expected that there would be so much when it comes to catching other Pokémon." Gary murmurs, running his hand through his mahogany strands. (A/N: Aye! That unintentionally rhymes!)

Serena nods in agreement. "Yeah, I guess. How was it for you, Ash?"

Ash sighs, forming his hands into a headrest. "Me? Well, I was up for it! But then again, it started to get a bit boring...sometime during the lecture."

"Sometime? It got boring when he even mentioned the lecture." Gary scoffs.

Serena shook her head. "We should be heading home. It's getting dark."

Ash sighs again. "Serena, we're in Lumiose City. Vaniville will take about four to five hours by bus. Eleven hours if we walk.

Dawn nods. "Ash's right. There's a Pokémon Center here, near the Gym."

Ash spun around to face the tall, tower-like Gym. The first Gym he'll battle in a couple days.

"I wonder who the Gym Leader is." Serena mutters under her breath, causing to snap Ash out of his thoughts.

"Me too, Serena." He mumbles inaudibly. "Me too."

Gary yawns. "Well, we have to get going. How distant are we from the Pokémon Center?"

"An estimated fifteen minutes, Gary." Serena responds.

"Fifteen!?" Dawn exclaims. "I'm ready to hit the hay..."

Ash smirks. "Y'know what that means?"

Gary groans. "Ashy-Boy...don't you dare-"

"Let's run!" Ash says, running the opposite direction.

"Should I tell him that he's going the wrong way?" Serena asks her friends, stifling a giggle.

"Nah." Dawn says, letting out a chuckle. "Let him be. That boy needs to be taught a lesson.

"And, we are here!" Dawn exclaims, pushing the doors open of the Pokémon Center.

"Why...didn't you guys...tell me that....I was...going the...wrong...direction!?" Ash asks breathlessly.

"We just wanted you to taste your own medicine!" Gary nonchalantly says, sticking his tongue out towards the raven-haired boy.

Ash nods, as Pikachu jumps off Ash's shoulder. "That's fair." He replies, as he walks over to Serena.

"Sooo, do you want to share a bedroom orrr?" He asks, wrapping his arm around her neck.

"Ooorrr, how about...no." She teasingly replies.

"What? Why?"

"Why not?"

"That doesn't answer me question."

"And I don't care."

"But-"

"No buts."

"Serena! I-"

Gary places a hand over Ash's mouth. "Stop fighting like an old married couple! We'll share a room, and we'll each have our own, individual beds. Unless Dawn, if you wan-"

"Shut it, Gary." Dawn replies sternly.

"Eh. Was worth a try."

Serena smiles, walking over to Nurse Joy. "Hey Nurse Joy! Can we get a room, four beds, please?"

Nurse Joy nods, handing Serena a room key, which had a silver outline, and "478" engraved into it. "Your room is 478. Have a great night!" she happily replies.

"You too, thanks Nurse Joy!" They all say simultaneously.

They all walk over to their room, which was absolutely satisfying. Both sides of the room, stood a nightstand, and two beds, which has snow-white sheets, and a baby-blue comforter. The room was elegantly decorated with Jigglypuff wallpaper, and a Gourgeist-shaped chandler. Finally, stood a balcony. Fairy lights and lanterns wrapped around its black, metal railings.

"Well. This room is oddly satisfying." Dawn murmurs, placing her backpack on one of the beds.

"Dibs on the bed next to Serena!" Ash exclaims.

"And dibs on sleeping with Dawn!" Gary teases.

Serena sighs, appalled by the boys' child-like behavior. "Dibs on using the socket first!"

"Serena! My phone's 8%." Dawn pouts, crossing an arm over the other.

"And mine is dead." Serena replies.

Dawn takes her backpack, pulling out her shampoo, conditioner, and her perfume. "Well. I guess...dibs on using the bathroom!" Dawn exclaims, rushing into the bathroom.

Serena walked out to the balcony, as she gazed upon the scintillating stars above her. She was rather upset, and confused. Not about the journey ahead of her, but with her relationship with Ash. One minute, she shows admiration, and love towards him. The second, she doesn't. She never expected to be upset about that. There'll be no doubt that they'll meet other girls on the way. And what if? What if?

Her thoughts were merely interrupted as two, familiar, warm, arms wrapped around her waist.

"What's up, Serena?" Ash whispers, his breath fanning against her ear.

"I don't know. But don't worry, I just...miss my mom." she whispers back.

"Serena. I know that isn't there case. Ever since this morning, you haven't been acting yourself."

"Ash." She sternly replies. "I'm fine. Okay? You're always worrying about me. Can you just stop?" She fumes, rapidly breathing.

Ash unwraps his arms from her waist. His eyes avoiding hers. "What in Arceus? I think you need some rest, Serena." he coldly says, storming back into the room.

Serena was now taken aback by Ash's sudden, cold attitude. She decided to go to bed. She didn't even bother to change. She planted her face on the pillow, writhing around her bed- attempting to sleep.

She couldn't feel anything but lament.

Ooooooh?
What's going to happen between them?
Only time will tell.
