"I'm tired baby. You're not bothering me, I just-"
"Well between all of your work, and partying, and being all over girls. Sure, you're tired." Kristen let it all out on him. The fact that she was having a bad day, so far the baby made her wanna pee every two seconds, and she wanted to get some errands done. It didn't help her to be nice and joyful with her man.
They were on the phone, for the first time in a week and a half. And tension was at its highest between them. Especially since the last time Robert hung up on her, to enjoy himself with a boys' night out.
"What the fuck, Kristen?" Robert was surprised by her words. As much as he was taken aback, her attitude made sense to him, and he had sort of prepared himself for it to happen. When Kristen was pissed at him, every subject could get her to argue with him, but then Rob wasn't innocent in that context.
"I saw you with them!" She was raising her voice because of her frustration. Trying to walk around the house wasn't helping to calm her down, or the baby who was kicking like a professional boxer. "Always with women!"
"Did you go on the internet?" Robert sighed knowing the answer already. His pregnant girlfriend was paranoid since he left, and that was such a bad side of her that had been multiplied by her hormones and cranky mood. "What do you want me to do? Tell them 'no' because my girlfriend will get crazy jealous over a one second touch for a bloody picture? You're ridiculous Kristen." She registered his British cursing, the one he used when deeply mad or frustrated. The later probably applied to her, but she stopped herself from acknowledging it. Her own anger took over everything else.
"Now I'm ridiculous." She scoffed at him. "You just tell them to 'fuck off'. That's what you do!"
"You know what? Call me back when you'll be less hysterical."
"You better not hang up on me again. I'm tired of this!" Immediately sobering up from her anger, her voice was cracking and Robert refrained himself from hanging up. "You're miles away surrounded by blonde aussie girls, and I'm here stuck at home." Her steps altered in the middle of the living room. Head tilted back, to stop herself from crying. Left hand on the back of the couch she was slowly letting herself down on it. Kristen was an emotional wreck.
"What do you want me to do?"
"You should have done something weeks ago!" Kristen exclaimed angrily. Her emotions went from one opposite to the other in a matter of seconds. Breathing out deeply, she tried to gain back control of herself. Such a difficult task when she was so overwhelmed by so many different factors. "What's the point now, you're coming back in a few days."
"Well then stop yelling at me." Rob simply stated, for both of them. Even thought he had no idea how Kristen was at that instant, and that statement applied more to himself and his sanity.
"I don't understand you." She whispered as much to herself than to him.
"What? Look, I'm exhausted, can we talk about this when I'm back?"
"Whatever."
"Baby." He sighed. "I love you."
All he got as an answer was silence. She ended the call. At that moment he knew he fucked up badly, and that his flight back to Los Angeles couldn't leave soon enough.

Robert was opening the door of their house, strolling his suitcase behind him. Walking inside he stopped to try and hear any noises, but the whole house was silent. Even the dogs were totally absent. He wondered if he properly sent Kristen a text to let her know he was on his way back home.
