[The following scene happens after both Rob and Kristen filmed their respective movies in March 2014. And a few days before Laelynn's birthday. Their relationship is still stranded, but they live together again.]
The music was loud. The lights were low. And the alcohol was flooding in everyone's veins. Tonight she was letting her personal life at the door. No baby. No boyfriend or ex, she wasn't sure. No work. Nothing. Just her having fun.
Her friends had invited her to go out, they all missed her and Kristen thought that she deserved a night out. To be a young woman and not a mother for a few hours.
She had drank but not enough to be drunk, that wasn't her goal. One of her friend had her phone up and was taking a picture of everyone, and Kristen happily smiled. She took a bunch of them with probably everyone, and the party was documented by them and some videos.
The night kept going positively and after midnight she thought about going home but someone stopped her. She looked back and saw one of her closest friend and smiled at her then followed her back to dance. Getting in the groove Kristen wasn't really paying attention until she felt a hand moving her hair away from her face and soft lips pecking at hers. That froze her instantly. Here she was having fun and Alicia was kissing her.
That was weird and unexpected. Kristen let it go on for a few more seconds, until she moved back in a rush and left the house. Rushing out she was fumbling to find her car keys and when she got in it, she remembered she was tipsy enough to not be fit to drive. There in the dark of night Kristen cried like crazy. Huge sobs came out of her, enclosing her in her panic. It took her a moment to grab her phone and called the first person in her mind.
"Can you come to pick me up? Please?" Her voice was trembling as much as her hands were shaking. "I can't drive-I-Please just come."
Fifteen minutes later a pickup parked in front of her car and she got out to go in it. Closing the door and the car took off immediately. No one was talking. Kristen had stopped crying a few minutes before he arrived, but her state of mind was still a mess. A noise from the backseat attracted her attention and Kristen looked back to see her daughter in the car seat. Gasping loudly she put her hands to her mouth and muffled another sob. Of course, Laelynn was here. She had called Rob and he was home with her, what did she expect him to do? Leaver her alone?
Another fifteen minutes passed and they arrived home, always in silence. Kristen stood back and watched Rob handle Laelynn carefully to disturb her as less as possible and they all walked into the house. She let him go to the nursery and she walked in their bathroom to change and refresh herself. When she entered their room she stopped at the sight of Rob sitting on the bed and leaning on his knees.
"Are we so broken that you think hooking up with the first person you see is a good idea?" He asked her, painfully looking at her. Kristen was paralysed on sight, not understanding what he was talking about. "This!" He grabbed his phone that was laying next to him on the bed and started to play a video. The screen was turned towards her, and Kristen took a few steps forward to see it. When she realised what it was her crying started all over again. Then it ended and Rob tossed his phone on the floor, not caring if it broke.
"It wasn't like that!"
"Oh yeah?" He retorted. "So it's not you kissing someone else? It's not you accepting other lips than mine? Tell me what it was then. Please, Kristen, do enlighten me."
She moved towards him but he stood up and moved further away to the balcony of their room. It hurt Kristen for him to do that.
"I know I fucked up. But I never, never did that to you. Being with someone else. Is that what you want?"
"No. Of course not!" She answered back quickly and joined him outside, but still letting some pace between them. "I was shocked. I didn't initiated it, you saw it."
"Yeah. But you didn't pushed her back either." To that Kristen had no reply, only because that was the truth. As shocked as she had been she hadn't immediately stopped that kiss, no matter how short it had been.
