Night was settling down over Los Angeles, and so was Kristen witnessing it from her bedroom's window. It was so peaceful, apart from the noise of suitcases being closed and drawers successfully closing and opening. She hated that sound right now, knowing what it meant.
"Have you seen my dark, blue hoodie?" Kristen heard him but didn't move an inch or answered to him. His steps echoed in their bedroom, and then she felt him behind her. "Baby?" Sighing she turned around and walked out to Laelynn's nursery for a minute, then stepped back in handing Rob his hoodie. Not peeping a word he took it, and went back to his task of packing.
Kristen didn't return to her watch over the city lights, instead she changed into her night clothes and went through her night routine, which she didn't do daily. It got her mind out of it for a little time, before it came back when she laid down and saw Rob's stuffs by the door. Taking her phone from her nightstand she texted Ruth and checked her alarms were turned on. A glance at the monitor too and she got herself comfortable under the comforter and happily closed her eyes. Minutes later she felt Rob sliding into the bed and slowly moving up a hand on her hip.
"Baby?" Rob asked confused over the fact Kristen wasn't responding to his attention. A second later her small arms enrolled his neck, and she hid her head into the nook of his neck.
"I don't want you to leave. And I don't wanna go to work tomorrow." Kristen whispered against his skin. Understanding her feeling he hugged her back, then rolled onto his back taking her with him.
"It's just a few days, I'll be back before you know." He kissed the side of her head and moved his hands again. "Now, we should enjoy each other." Kristen giggled.
"Oh yeah?" She tilted her head back and smirked at him. "As you said, it's only a few days."
"I spent enough time away from your sexy body to not enjoy it when I can." He tugged on her tank top up to match his words. Kristen answered by kissing him. He was right. He would be back soon, so why wasting a good night crying over it when they could play dirty. At least until Laelynn woke up.
The front door slammed hard the following night, followed by quick steps going upstairs. Kristen entered her bedroom and sighed of relief.
"You're still here."
"Of course, I am. My flight leaves at nine tonight." Rob chuckled at his girlfriend and greeted her with a kiss. "How was your day?"
"Awesome. We're making lots of progress." Rob smiled seeing the beam on her face, the joy and pride that emanated from her. "The filming is always so intense, and everyone is nice and hard working." Kristen kept talking about her day, and Rob was happy to hear her speaking so intensely and with her hands moving around a lot.
"So, are you still taking Laelynn with you tomorrow?" They were laying down on their bed, enjoying a quiet moment.
"Yeah. It's only an hour drive to work. I'm not ready to totally hand her over, even though Elena texted me about helping me out from time to time." Kristen explained to him, even though everything had been planned out for a few weeks already. The only good thing about this movie was how close it was from home.
"That's nice of her." And right on cue Laelynn's cries were heard through the baby-phone.
Kristen watched Rob got out of bed and walk out of the room. Sighing she closed her eyes. Tomorrow would be Laelynn's first time on set with her. Since she had started filming a few days ago, she had been staying at home with Rob. But now, they were both gonna work. The filming crew had been warned about it, and all she was hoping for was that the day went smoothly. Baby noises got Kristen out of her thoughts, and she opened back her eyes to see her daughter in her dad's arms. Smiling she got up to take her, and kissed both her chubby cheeks several times.
