Eli slowly felt himself drifting back into consciousness. It had been a long night of waiting for the door to open again, but when he heard nothing he slowly managed to drift off into a light sleep. The events of the long day suddenly tiring him out. He raised his head at the sound of something shifting on the floor. Had she come back while he was sleeping? He hadn't heard the door so it must have been, he wouldn't put it past her. She was very unpredictable.
Hesitantly he called out into the room, his voice coming out hoarse and scratchy. "Hello?" More shuffling to his left. "Is- is anyone there?" There was no answer for several uncomfortable seconds. Just as he was about to give up and blame it on going crazy, a calm voice spoke up, interrupting his thoughts.
"You're still here." Still here? Where else would he go?
"Ya, I'm actually a bit tied up at the moment." He tried to keep the bitterness out of his voice but failed.
"I see that," the girl grumbled.
"Oh, lucky you!" He faked enthusiasm as his sarcasm ran thick.
"Haha, very funny." He smirked at his own joke, finding himself actually quite hilarious considering the situation. Speaking of the situation.
"Look, I get that I might have deserved the beating, but are you really gonna keep me captive?" His blindfold was now starting to get itchy and his joints were aching now more than ever. "Is this gonna be some kind of hostage game? You planning on getting money in return for me? Cause trust me, that ain't gonna work."
Riley slowly looked up from her hands and toward him in an instant, but she couldn't think of the proper response to his comments. Does he think that she's Alison? She stared at him with a studying look as if this entire thing was just some sort of dream.
"I'm sorry?" She eventually let out in a confused voice as she tilted her head toward him. Her entire body seemed to freeze the second he asked the question and her thoughts seemed to as well.
"You kidnapped me," he muttered under his breath as if he thought it was the simplest thing ever, even though to Riley, it was quite confusing. The situation seemed to have escalated in seconds, and Riley felt everything crash against her brain in moments after he commented something as simple as that.
"What are you saying?" Riley returned in a hesitant voice as she closed her eyes as she felt confusion consume her, and something felt extremely off. What could possibly be going through the poor guy's mind?
Eli grew irritated at the way she was brushing off his words. What do you think I'm saying? Scowling he spoke again.
"Stop acting innocent, you know exactly what I'm saying. What do you want from me? Money? Is that it?" He didn't have any money but he wasn't going to let her know that. "Fine, I can give you money. You need to untie these first." He frowned as the girl scoffed.
"Money? You think that's what she wants from you?" She? Another one? How many are there? He couldn't keep track just by voices and sound. Having been told about these situations before he tried hard to play the game right.
"Fine, bring me to your boss. I'll make a deal with her." Hoping he had played this right he held his breath as he waited for a response. He heard shuffling again and then finally,
"What kind of deal?" Eli hesitated, honestly he didn't know what he was doing, he just wanted to get out of these chains.
"That's between me and you're boss."
Boss? He thinks that I have a boss? Riley sucked in a silent breath and held it in as she put down both of her hands in front of her before she pushed off of them to get the bottom of her feet to touch the cold floor. Her eyes stayed glued to the guy as if he was talking rhymes over and over again, but somehow she couldn't help but think it was some sort of game.
