That wasn't the moment of freedom for either Riley or Eli. The man had brought them back to Eli's room. The water was still coating the floor but it was reasonably less than when he was in there last. The man threw them both against the wall and chained them both up side by side. At first Riley was thankful to be next to Eli, but then she realized just how bad it would be. Her mouth was taped shut once more and so was Eli's. The man grinned sickening toward the two of them before he pounded his fist against the wall furthest from them.

"You see, kids," the man started and unrolled his fist before resting his hand on the wall. "I appreciate what you told me, but," the man squinted his eyes and looked away from them, "you took too long." The man brought his eyes back toward the two of them and sneered. "You both had your chance. Now have fun," the man muttered before swiftly walking out of the room. But that didn't mean that they were free from anything, it just meant all the talking was done. The man walked out, strutted down the hall before making it back to his office. He looked toward each of the paintings he had done off of memory and glared. "The moment has come, my dear. Soon we will be reunited." He looked away sharply and sat down on the chair left abandoned. "But how far have you ran this time?" The man pondered and covered his mouth and chin with his right hand.

Riley took in the human beast that stood before her and Eli. What had they done to deserve this? It wasn't a normal beating, however. The man had a pocketknife ready in his left hand but he didn't make a move to anything with it. He looked back and forth with only his eyes from Eli's to Riley's before he got so close to both of them, it felt like Riley was going to be made into human juice.

"I'm the one with electric pads," he spoke so quiet Riley hardly heard him. The man took a small step back before he half heartedly ran the tip of the blade down Riley's calf. Eli struggled and began to scream muffled things, but the only thing Riley did was nod as she held in the screams.

She understood the riddles, because she was always the one trying to give them to others.

Eli was breathing hard as he looked at Riley and saw as she stared directly at the guy with intense eyes. Eli wanted to grab him and strangle him but he couldn't. All he could do was struggle and try to kick, no matter how badly his body reacted to his actions.

"Tomorrow," the man said quietly as he looked back at Riley. She nodded immediately before the tip of the knife was back in her calf. It was in another section but Eli still began to struggle. He began to scream as loudly as he could, though it was too muffled to be any louder than a normal voice. Eli continued to struggle but the man didn't even glance toward him. "Others will come," he muttered and Riley nodded again. Eli was beginning to seriously freak out. Were others going to come just go torture her. He began to try and tear his hands off of the chains but nothing was working. He stopped when the man looked toward him slowly. Riley did too. "Stop." Eli began to breathe heavily but nudged his head toward Riley. "Can't. Boss wouldn't like it if we stopped." The man said again, looking back toward Riley and reluctantly brought his knife away. "Water coming." Eli gulped, remembering the burning feeling his lungs felt like after that. He was almost afraid Riley felt the same thing he did but when the man walked out, all he could do was think about Riley. Not the torture, not the pain. Just Riley. He looked toward her and frowned, seeing the minimal blood easing out of the cuts. They weren't deep, but it was enough to make a small puddle under her leg.

Eli wanted out.

Riley sat still. She was sitting beside Eli and wanted to ask him questions but she couldn't. There was tape covering her mouth. She began to press her tongue against it, trying her best to get it off in the most silent and unnoticable way possible. She was breathing roughly through her nose and when Eli turned his head toward her and gave her worried eyes, all she did was nod before continuing what she had started.

And then finally the tape loosened around her lips enough for her to move them and speak. She knew it would be a little muffled but at least she was able to. "Are you okay?" Riley asked as she painfully turned her head toward him. He nodded and looked toward her before looking away. And then he began to shake his head. "Did they hurt you bad?" He shrugged in return and looked down. He was tired and he didn't care to discuss about it. "Never mind," Riley muttered and breathed in with her lips to bring the tape onto them. She was getting tired and she needed to sleep.

And then the door opened with a bang and a few loud thuds pounded on the floor toward them.

Tomorrow was going to come later than they expected.
