Aubrey
Ever since the argument with August and Chris happened, things haven't been the same. August keeps coming by trying to apologize about what happened and I just brush him off not even paying attention. Chris hasn't called or even texted me for weeks so there's no telling where his and I refused to think that he took advantage of me; yet it pains me to say that I missed him lowkey. I had to stop myself multiple times from texting him to make sure that he would be okay but I figured that he needed some alone time. I wouldn't think he would hold a grudge against someone for a long period of time even though we all have our moments of jealousy. Of course August and I talked it out like friends and we just decided to do us. He didn't like the idea, but I could care less.
Ya'll ain't stupid though. They say to follow what your instincts are telling you because 99.9% of the time they're correct. The other 1% though...just hope you live to see the next day. Problems don't just vanish.
More of my things in my house began to come up missing or either placed somewhere else. I've replaced the locks multiple times and there was no need to call the police because what could they do? There was no physical evidence of someone literally breaking into my house so that's when I decided to install cameras in and around my house. The suspicious activities stopped for awhile but I knew it wasn't over.
As I walked back home coming back from my afternoon jog, my phone rung through my bluetooth headphones interrupting my music. I pressed a button on the headphones and answered.
"Hello?"
"Hey, where are you?" It was Taylor voice. There was something off about it, but I couldn't tell what.
"I'm headed home, are you okay?" I asked pretty concerned. I smiled at a jogger that jogged passed me.
"Um yeah, I'm good." She said sniffling.
"Taylor, don't lie to me." I said sighing and stopping in front of a bench and began to stretch my tired out muscles. I couldn't wait to get home to watch movies, eat ice cream and just relax.
"No, no I'm fine Aubrey. It's just been awhile ever since we talked and I wanted to hear your voice."
"You sure? I haven't heard you this upset since high school." I said starting back on my path. It took way more than stealing to get Taylor upset. I admit that she's over dramatic at times, but this vibe that she was giving off didn't sit well with me. Something was wrong. I could hear her sigh a little bit in the background.
"Yes, I'm fine Aubrey." She reassured me. I found it weird that she didn't tell me the issue when she normally does.
"Alright, I'm letting this lie slide this time. Just know that I'll always be here for you Tay."
"I know, I know, thank you...Is August there with you?"
"No, he's somewhere roaming around. Haven't heard from him in a couple days, why?" I remembered the flash of pure anger in his eyes that I've never seen before.
"I just don't want his nosy ass to here my business and really? how come?" She asked. I could hear her voice lighten some more. I cringed at the thought because I didn't know how to tell her this.
"Let's just say that there was a big argument, a whole misunderstanding, but that's a story for another day." I said putting it politely as I could. The sun began to peak through the cloudy skies and I noticed ahead that another jogger was coming so I moved over to make room. I saw that he seemed to be moving a pretty fast pace so it looked to me that he had experience in track or maybe football.
