Chapter 37 - The Lost Girl

Ash, Serena, Ian, and Natalie were walking through the path along Cinnabar Island. It was slightly forested. "So Serena? What are you planning to do?" Natalie asks as Serena smiles and looks at her third ribbon.

"I don't know Natalie. I mean probably go for my fourth ribbon and get into the grand festival."

"Do you think you'll be able to be the first Top Coordinator in Kanto?" Natalie asks.

"Nati I believe I can. But that would restrict me to Kanto wouldn't it?" Serena asks the girl petting her Glaceon.

"Huh.. well I guess you are right! Well I really know you'll do what you want." Natalie responds.

In front of the two girls, Ian and Ash were talking about the Pokémon league. "So Ash, I think I'll beat you." Ian states.

"Oh please. I'll beat you and Gary and win and become a Pokémon master!" (Sorry had to put that in eventually)

"Oh cmon do you.." Ian starts before he's shushed by Ash. Serena catches on quickly and stopped with Natalie being silent.

"Ash what's wrong?" Serena asks through telepathy

"I hear something. It's over to the left." Ash responds "cmon" Serena nods and motions for Ian and Natalie to follow and she activates her vision ability.

Serena doesn't see anything and tells Ash who nods and hears the sounds again. His eyes widen slightly and he points in a direction. Serena looks at the ground with her vision and sees a silhouette of a young child and she takes off.

Serena reaches the little child quickly and picks her up. She's scratched and passed out.

"Ash quickly!" Serena shouts cradling the poor child. Ash runs through the trees and sees the little girl Serena is cradling.

The little girl looked to be around 8 years old. She had wavy chocolate brown hair. She was wearing worn shoes and a light blue dress.

"Ash help me!" Serena shouts raising a hand over the injured girl. Ash does the same and their hands glow and the wounds begin to heal themselves.

Ian and Natalie ran into the area and sees the unconscious girl in Serena's arms. Pikachu followed the two "we need to get her to a Pokémon center to rest." Ash states and everyone else nods.

They run to the Pokémon center and they get two rooms. Natalie and Ian run off to get medicine for her, and Ash and Serena take the girl to their room and place the girl on a bed.

Serena sighs and sits next to her. "Serena she'll be alright." Ash says putting his hands on her shoulders. "I promise you."

"Yeah.. we healed her but I'm still worried.. shouldn't she have woken up already?" Serena asks letting Absol out.

"Actually Serena, she has passed out. The affects of whatever happened to make her pass out remains even if you have healed them it'll take a while for her to wake." Absol states.                    

Serena sighs again and takes the girls hand. "Please wake up soon." She says putting the girls hands next to her. The next morning, Serena wakes up and looks over towards the girl. She's looking at Serena with emerald green eyes.

Serena sits up quickly. "Ash wake up!" She shouts shaking Ash to get him awake.

"I'm up, I'm up. What's wrong Serena?"

"Nothing is wrong she's awake!" Serena shouts getting up and walking over to the girl.

Serena touches her hand and her life signs are back to normal. "Hey. What's your name honey?"

"Name.. name my name is.. my name is.. Kaelyn.. my name is Kaelyn." The girl says sitting up slowly.

"Hello Kaelyn. My name is Serena, and this is Ash, my boyfriend."

"Nice to meet you Kaelyn." Ash says.

"A-A-Ash... S-S-Serena..."

"There you go." Serena smiles.

"S-S-Serena is.. smiling.." Kaelyn says quietly.

"I am.. Hey do you know where your parents are?" Ash asks curiously.

"P-parents? T-they are.. umm.. they are gone.. people wearing black killed them.."

"Black? That's Team Rocket."

"Yes... them... there was a portal.. and I fell through running away... they chased me but I lost them.. you two look like momma and daddy.."

"We look like them?" Ash asks looking her in the eyes.

Lucario comes from his Pokeball. "She's not lying.. I can see the picture of them in her mind. You two look very similar to her parents."

"Momma... daddy..." she whispers.

"What did you say Kaelyn?" Serena asks her.

"Umm... well..."

"Let's just forget it. Kaelyn would you like to call us anything else? You can give us nicknames." Ash says smiling

"Daddy" she says pointing to Ash. "Momma" she adds pointing to Serena.

"Me? You want me to be Momma?" Serena asks looking surprised. Lucario is also surprised and returns it's self to the Pokeball. Ash looks surprised as well.

"Yes... Serena is.. Momma.. and Ash is.. Daddy."

Serena stands still for a second. Ash responds first. "Alright I'll be Daddy." Ash says with a toothy grin.

Serena smiles at her. "Okay I'll be Momma. That works."

Kaelyn smiles brightly and hugs Serena tightly. "Yay!" She shouts.

There was a light knock on the door. "I'll get it." Ash says walking to the door. He opens it to find Natalie and Ian.

"Is the girl okay? Is she awake?" Natalie asks immediately.

"Yes she's fine. By the way, her name is Kaelyn." Ash responds smiling. He turns around to see Kaelyn hugging Pikachu and petting him.

"Chaaaaaa." Pikachu cries in happiness liking the feeling of the girls small fingers behind his ears. Ash smiled and let the other two in to see the little girl playing with Pikachu and Serena let's out her Pokémon to play with Kaelyn as well.

Back in Saffron City, Giovanni was getting intel on Ash and Serena from a member that has been secretly following the two.

"What do you mean it seems like they have a daughter?" Giovanni asks confused.

"There's a girl that came through no where that the two and their new companions came across. It seems like they are already acting like family."

"Huh.. well seems like this mysterious girl could prove useful". Giovanni laughs...
