"Oh my God."
"Calm down."
"You want me to calm down?!"
"Jeez, all I am asking if you can pipe it down, you Virgo."
"Nirvana, that's not even my sign," I tell her, "But I can't calm down. They were there. I thought they haven't interact with Alex and Jack in a long time."
"Cassidy, stop worrying about that and focus on the-"
Nirvana stops amid from her sentence, grunting as she leans forward, her head on the dashboard, "Vane? Vanessa? Nirvana?"
"Cassidy, please pull over," Nirvana moans, grunts slips through her lips, "I don't feel good."
I slightly looked over to her, she held her stomach with her left hand and cupped her mouth with her right hand, she was going to puke any moment. I stopped the car and Nirvana swung opened the door to lean over so she can puke. I rubbed her back to give her comfort before she gets off the car completely.
They were there. Why? Why was I acting like a teen? I shouldn't have run away, I bet I looked so pathetic. I should have suck it up, ignored them, and walked away. Give them the sign that they didn't matter to me, they no longer mean anything to me. But I just had to run away from them!
If only I had thought thoroughly instead of reacting.
After a while, Nirvana returns with mascara smeared under her eyelids, the marks went to different direction due to drying her tears and sweat. She groans, fixes herself on the passenger seat to find a comfortable spot. Switches within a second, but eventually, she pulled her knees to her chest and curled up in a ball. Smiling, I started the engine again and continued to drive.
My mind focused on the road, I had already sobered up completely the moment I saw Calum. But my mind had also focused on him- them.
They were there, the four of them were there. They've changed, they no longer looked like very skinny kids, they actually have meat on them. I missed them like crazy, but seeing them now, I just wanted to run from them. Just facing them scared me, if I had stayed any longer and gave Calum the chance to talk, I have no idea what would come out of their mouths besides the 'I'm sorry' shit. I don't think I would've been ready to face that even after 8 long years.
I think situations like those are kept to stay in the past. I don't think they'll be a chance to start over.
I came home and carried Nirvana on my back to get inside my house without making any sounds to wake up my mom. When we came in she fell to the floor, her attention had fell on Sherry, claiming that she would make everything feel better inside. Sherry looks s extremely confused with Nirvana's affection, the wild one never showed any interest towards my baby. Nirvana continues to blabber things that I couldn't comprehend at all, I assume the alcohol didn't leave her system just yet.
