"I'm good."
"Are you sure?"
"Are you going to ask me every time I wince? The strings just hurt my fingertips, that's all, Angel."
"Still," Angelina sighs, leaning back down on the small couch, "Auntie told me to look after you."
It's been a little over a week since I returned home, after that rainy day, my mom wouldn't stop asking me if things were okay between Wesley and I or if I was okay in general. No matter how many times i told her, she doesn't stop asking and has Angelina or Nirvana to watch me whenever I leave the house.
Why do people constantly worry over unnecessary things?
"Shouldn't you be editing something, Miss Copy Editor?" I asked her, looking over my notes.
Angelina scrolls through her phone, "What do you think I'm doing?" She snickers, shaking her phone towards my direction before returning back to work on her phone. "I'm so likable, I don't need to be at work all the time."
"I'm sure it's helpful for you to be at work than here," I tell her.
"I'm sure it's helpful for you if you just tell us what's going on?"
Sighing, I drop my guitar, placing them with the others on the stands, "I'm not dealing with this, I'm okay," I tell her, getting up to a seat on the rolling chair, "I'm just trying to work on this new album."
"Fine, i get it," Angelina sighs, "You don't want to talk about it, but I thought you were supposed to work on your album in two months?"
"Jumping ahead on schedule."
Angelina sighs, shaking her head before getting up to head out, motioning she'll be back after her call. After she closes the door, I was able to release the biggest sigh I held in for so long. I try to avoid the past, but every time they pop up on my timeline, it's like a sign of something. I'm sure I'm just being naive or dramatic, maybe I haven't really moved on from the past. i keep on lingering onto the past feelings and memories, I should really try harder to move on from them.
Turning around, the clear blue sky was slowly covered with grey clouds and rain slowly made their way down to the surface. A tear mimics the rains' movement, falling down to the cold floor. I'm acting like a foolish, desperate girl again. I don't want to ever feel what I did back then again, it was too painful. I just gotta keep moving forward like I always did.
The sound of the door opens, I turn around to see Nirvana walking in with her phone in her hand, "Sup."
"Hi," I laughed, "Aren't you suppose to be at work?"
"Nah, I got a day off, but aren't you-"
"Suppose to working on my album in two months? Why am I starting it early? Jeez, no one can really leave me alone."
"We're just worried."
-
"Where are you going?"
"I gotta go to work."
"Can't you stay a little longer?"
"Look, I stayed a little too much already," Sighing as I retrieved the wrinkled clothing from floor, slipping them on, "Plus, I'm not into that stuff, sweetheart."
"But I-"
"You would change that?" I cut her off her question, lightly laughing as I slipped my shirt on, "You're not the first. Sorry, I'm not committed to relationships. See you around...?"
"Kate." She answers, "See you, Cal."
Nodding, I walk out her apartment, making my way to the busy street, searching for my car. Don't even remember how I ended up sleeping with her, I was too busy taking shots, then I woke up laying down with her on her bed.
It's 2:01 pm, shit, I did stayed with her a bit more than I expected. I'm going to get an earful from him.
Driving in the expressway with the music blasting and windows down, I was relaxed, but I still needed to keep a low profile, can never get a break from those parapazzis. Exiting out of the expressway and heading towards the building, I already feel my phone buzzing.
It must be from them, they gotta relax already. Parking my car in the parking out, I made my way into the building, taking my time since I was already late.
"I made it, stop calling me," I tell them as I entered in the floor level with all of them staring down at me.
"Where the hell were you?"
"Knocked up at this girl's place last night," I simply answered him, walking past by them and walking into the studio, "So what are we doing? Working on the one released in June or the one in next year?"
"How about you work on yourself," He tells me, "Calum, you gotta stop drinking and sleeping with random girls. You practically do this every day."
"Nah uh," I laughed," I recently started getting back into this and we're not going to have another incident if Calum might've gotten a girl preggo. That was only one time and the condom broke. I'm 25, I know what I'm doing Ash."
He huffs, "I know, I just worry about you. You haven't been yourself."
"I'm good," I tell him, patting his back, "I know it's been hard handling me for the last few years, but I know what I'm doing."
Ashton sighs, nodding his head before walking away with one of the music producers. Michael pats my back along with Luke before they both enter the studio. Time to get to work.
