"Are you sure she'll open the door?"
"Ion know. She and my dad had an appointment which was forbidding her from entering her studio and taking a break. I'm sure she's pissed as fuck," I sigh, reaching up to the front door. Turning around, I smiled, trying to be positive, "I'm hoping that seeing her favorite rascals will save our asses."
"That's me!" Shrieks Max, flinging his arms up in the excitement and leans back. Oakley panics and tries to get balance by placing her hand behind his back, pushing his body against her chest while Grace smacks me behind my back.
"What have I told you about cursing in front of my child, Vanessa?" Grace chastised, scrunching her chin revealing all of her chin dimples. The rest snickers behind her while I winced.
Rolling my eyes, I rang the doorbell, muttering my breath, "Yeah, yeah. I'm learning."
I glance back to everyone, knowing the terrible crime my old man committed, I knew Cassidy would be mad about staying away from the studio, so I thought (and I hope) I gather up people she loves to cheer her up and that she doesn't act irrationally. With my half ass plan, this should work out, how can she say no to this. Right?
The locks began to twist and turn, I immediately turned around, getting ready to waiting jump inside, ambushing before she could protest and shut us out; however, to my surprise, Cassidy wasn't the one who opened the door, and neither was her mom. It was opened by someone else. He was tall, blond hair pulled to the right side of his face and the ends of his hair seemed to be a bit curly. He had a small beard, but it was noticeable. He's hot--- Wait a damn minute, for fuck's sake Nirvana, he's Cassidy's ex.
"You're the Lucifer guy," I blurted out.
"Lucifer?"
"Luke? What are you doing here?"
"Oh, Angelina. Ha, ha... Great."
"Angelina? What? She's here?"
I watched Lucifer and Goldilocks stiffen as Angelina made her way to the front, standing between them and us. The back of my shirt is tugged a bit, I peered over my shoulder to see Jenna witnessing the scene with confusion, "What's going on? Since when did they come back? Much less, why are they here?"
Before I could even answer or predict the reasoning for their presence, the lovely cheery woman chimes in, "Oh Vanessa! Angelina! Everyone! What are you all doing here?"
"Hi, Auntie," Angelina beams suddenly, her demeanor changing once her aunt appears. She goes and hugs the woman, "We came to see Cassidy, is she here?"
"Yes, she's somewhere around the house, she'll show up eventually but come in! Join us, we're about to make dinner."
The teens-- now young adults jumped instantly, accepting the invitation with Chris claiming, 'I haven't had a taste of mama Christina's cooking in years, not missing this opportunity.' The rest of us followed suit, entering and seeing the others. I knew Calum the most out of the four considering the whole shutdown in high school when I befriended Cassidy. Christina was whisked away by the young adults and that Michael guy; meanwhile, the rest of us had remained in the living room. Angelina was staring down at Calum the entire time until he cleared his throat, trying to diffuse the atmosphere.
"Nice to see you again, Hood."
"Yeah, you too."
"And who's this?"
"Hi, I'm Nia. I-I'm Calum's girlfriend."
"Girlfriend? Like a female friend or committed partner?" Angelina questions, crossing her arms and leans forward. She rests her arms on her knees, tilts her head to the right, and lifts a brow.
