Chapter 13 - First Mission!

~Yanade's POV~

"What's wrong? Did Hiro do something?" Kid said, slightly worried.

I sighed and scratched my head.

"Honestly, I don't know whether I should tell you or not..."

He grabbed both of my arms and forced me to face him.

"And why do you think that?" He asked in gritted teeth.

Crap. Is he mad?

"W-well, because I don't want to trouble you with such a little..." I pouted.

Explaining this to him is harder than I thought.

He sighed. "Do you hate me?"

I was taken back by the question. "Uhm...No."

"Well then, do you like me?"

I bit my lip. "Yes."

Ack! Stupid!

He laughed. Like, really laughed.

"Wh-why are you laughing?" I blush.

"You know, you can be really blunt sometimes."

I sighed. "Sorry."

"It's not that I hate it..." he mumbled. "Anyway, you trust me right?"

"Yes."

"Am I your friend?"

"Yes."

"Then I see no reason for you to hold back in troubling your friend." He said.

I rolled my eyes. "Except if your friend's a Shinigami."

He thought for a minute. "Point taken, but," he said, pulling me nearer. "I'm still curious about that Hiro issue."

Argh. Curse girl hormones!

"What. That didn't trouble me at all..." Kid sighed. "I'll have to tell father about this issue. Also, someone has to look deeper into Hiro's files."

"Sounds good." I say.

We were currently going back home, with Kid sending me back. The other's needed to be checked up on and are asked to stay in the school. Since I didn't have much injuries on me, I was the only one allowed to go home.

I told Kid about what happened to Hiro. A friendship can't last without trust. That's the key. Kid had as said. It had troubled me what would've happened to the guys if I wasn't there. And I hope that somehow they'd have managed.

Tsubaki came back a little while after and got Nygus-sensei. She said that she took long because she couldn't find Nygus-san.

I sighed in relief. At least there's an independent person I could somehow trust to take care of them.

"Hey, do you mind if I stay over?" Kid asked.

It was so sudden that I almost chocked on the lollipop he had given me. "Say what?!"

"That place is gonna be demolished soon." he started "So you'll be staying at my place, since there's a lot of room."

I looked at him questioningly. "How is that related to why you wanted to stay over?"

"I just want to stay in that house before it's gone," he said as if it was very obvious "Problem?"

I gave him my annoyed face then sighed. "It's not as if I could do anything about it anyway."
