"Looks like you and I aren't so different." A sly smirk spread onto his tanned features.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Karkat asked, and Dirk ignored the question, moving onto the topic at hand.
"So, Terezi got her heart broken, huh?" Dirk crossed his arms.
"Yea."
"My advice is to approach her as soon as possible and work things out before its too late." Dirk glanced over at Karkat. "And don't look too clingy, if she won't talk, don't stick to her like a Ex who can't get over his boyfriend."
"And where do you gather all of this experience..?" Karkat eyed him, suspiciously.
"I've had my own boyfriend before, you know." Dirk replied snappily.
Oh, maybe that boy Dave described was Dirks Ex, or at least Karkat guessed.
"Really? With that attitude I would've thought people would back the fuck away from
You." Karkat hissed.
"Says the one who has a girl hiding from
him!" Dirk snapped back.
"Enough of this fooling around." Karkat ended the argument.
"Anyways, if it doesn't work out, forget about her." Dirk began, "hanging on will only hurt you and her more." This time he kept his gaze stone cold, "now, it's time you got out of my room and allowed me to get back to work." Dirk pushed Karkat along across his dark room that resembled Karkats old cellar expect it wasn't cold. "Go away." Dirk quickly shut Karkat out and the door in his face. Jesus fuck, that boy had some problems. In other words, Karkat started off away from the somber corner and bumped into a man.
"Huh?" He looked around, but then looked down, "oh! Sorry bout' that!" He smiled cutely.
"Yea yea." Karkat rolled his eyes, "I haven't seen you around, where have you been?" He asked.
"Exploring of course!" The man replied happily. He looked exactly like Dave described, so this must be Dirks boyfriend. Karkat knew it was terrible to pry, but he just had to!
"Hey-any advice? A girl just walked in on me and my significant other kissing and ran out liking sad? I think she had a crush on me." Karkat said.
"Whoa, first off, I don't think you know my name! It's Jake. I get to advise my leaders love life? Heck yea!" He smiled goofily, okay, you can see why Dirk loved this dork, "Ok-don't be clingy and try to reconstruct anything you've done bad to them, forgive and forget, okay? Don't hang onto old problems." He gave Karkat a double pistole and a wink, "good luck lil'buddy!" He ruffled Karkats hair and headed to the left. Ok, so it looks like Jake and Dirk have a really bumpy relation ship. Karkat continued on and knocked on Terezi's door. Karkat heard footsteps as she opened the door a crack to smell who's outside, in a hurry, she shut the door but Karkat caught it with his arm and forced himself in.
"Get out!" Terezi launched a white pillow at Karkats face.
"No, we need to talk." Karkat stared, serious.
"What good will that do me?!" Terezi yelled.
"We'll be getting on better terms and there's a chance we can be moirails if this goes smoothly!" He tried to convince her.
"..Fine.." She crossed her arms. "It's simple, I'm red for you and it killed me when i saw you with Dave."
"And how can we solve this?" Karkat asked.
"Negotiation?"
"Exactly." Karkat smiled, "you become my moirail, and we forget this whole ordeal happened. Everything is like it used to be."
"I don't think I can get over it though.."Terezi muttered.
"There's plenty of fish in the sea." Karkat reasurred her.
"Ok.." She sighed, "we can do that.."
"Great! I'm sure Dave's anxious to see how you're doing." Karkat pulled his new Moirail back to Dave's room, but when both of you saw he was gone, they just thought he was at the bar. And oh, look at that! They were right." Karkat sat beside Dave and Terezi followed behind.
"So, it's all settled?" Dave asked, and Terezi nodded. Although she didn't look fully satisfied.
"Yea." Karkat replied, "she's my new moirail!" He exclaimed.
"Great." Dave smiled, he wanted to peck Karkats cheek, but refrained from doing it in front of Terezi. That would be cruel..when all of a sudden, Dirk busted out into the bar.
"David Elizabeth Strider, outside, now." Dirk held a katana that matched the one Dave brandished when he saved Dave's life. Everyone's faces turned towards the stoic robot.
"Whoa whoa, what's this fucking about?!" Karkat asked Dave.
"Dirk and I stride regularly, he does it when he's stressed or needs to release anger in a destructive way- don't tell him I told you." Dave whispered. Karkat nodded, looking at the blonde taller man.
"Dave!" He yelled again.
"Ok ok!" Dave jumped off of the stool, and walked outside of the cave, following his older brother. The rest of the people in the bar followed, ready to watch the battle go down. No one looked surprised, probably because this happened regularly. Dave brandished the katana in a stiff stance, glaring down his brother who took the same stance as well. Jake stood beside Karkat as well as Kanaya beside a girl with short blonde hair and black lipstick. Everyone watched the strife, and when the two brothers katanas clashed together with a metallic "CLANG!" That was when the true battle began. The two brothers battled it out. Karkat payed attention to how looked during battle. Relaxed, but tense at the same time. He had healed by now and was able to fight to his full potential. He looked over to the taller brother, who looked like he was pretty angry and violent when it came down to it. Wait-they used real swords...doesn't that mean either other of them could get seriously injured..? Karkat thought to himself. Dave ducked a swing of the katana his brother held and jabbed back at him, who jumped back. Dirk had somehow made Daves katana fly out from his grip. Jake had this concerned look on his face, when all of a sudden Karkat felt a force slam into his head. And it all went black. Karkat could only hear a scream and his name.
"Karkat!"
"Karkat!"
"Karkat..!" The voice trailed off as Karkat shut his eyes.
