"Wake up, say good morning to, that sleepy person lying next to you. If there's no one there, then there's no one there. But at least, the war is over."

A year later:

Karkat woke up on his back, turning his head to greet a "good morning" to the left side of the bed looking for a body that just wasn't there. The faint lingering scent of apples roamed his room, now with a empty atmosphere. He had kept all of Dave's belongings. Although Karkat was now the ruler of the people, high and low bloods alike he still slept in this room. Always this room. Terezi had always dragged his sorry ass out of bed, and into the castle. She and him had hooked up, becoming matesprits, and they were happy, really. It's just the thought of Karkats unbreakable  love for the man who convinced him life was worth living never really disappeared. A statue in the throne room was a sculptor of him, and Karkat would stare at it everyday, fighting back tears. Terezi knew Karkat still wasn't over his now dead boyfriend, but knew he still loved her as well. The two of them would over come this together. Dirk and Jakes relationship healed, and they were dating again. The low bloods that survived the war, we're living legends. Terezi, Dirk, Jake and Sollux were treated like royalty- but Dave and Karkat were the most honoured, there was even a empty throne beside the knight of blood that would hold the knight of times folded clothes, and a crown of his own. Terezi had a throne of her own, on the other side of the troll. Laws were passed. The first act was "Any troll or human alike shall never be mistreated for their blood color or their eye color."
Ok he threw in that last part for Dave but what ever.
The second was, "All have equal rights and freedoms of movement and speech."
There were plenty others, but it would be taxing to name all of them.

"Hey, sleepy head get up." A familiar voice spoke, it was Terezi.

"Nope, too depressed."

"Face the day Karkles! You ended the hemospectrum!"

"But at what cost?"
//insert Davekat cringy drawing meme here//

"Yea, we're all bummed out but he'd would want you to move on!"

"I guess you're right.."

"You've got me!"

"Yea, I do." Karkat chuckled, getting up from his bed. The old head quarters was empty and never used any more, but there still stood the bar.

"Guess what~?" Terra cooed.

"What?"
She held a bottle of.....whiskey.
Right then you thought you were about to break down.

"Like the good old times, right?" She said slowly.  Karkats breath hitched, he was overjoyed but also over whelmed.

"Yea.." He choked out, being guided by his matesprit to the dusty bar. She dug in the back to reach for a glass, and poured a sufficient amount for both of them, and even a extra glass for their lost friend.

"There's the pool table." Terezi pointed, "remember when Dave challenged you and he won so easily? Yea, he was the master gambl-" Terezi paused, staring at the sobbing troll. She hurried over, hugging the boy, "This was supposed to be a trip down memory lane, and a strategy to actually get you to cry so you could release some emotion."

"W-well it's fucking working.." The boy sputtered. //Vietnam war flashbacks//

"It was certainly potent, want to try a game?"

"Yea.." Karkat sniffled.
Terezi moved to pick up a old cue stick, and set up the old ball triangle. Karkat followed by picking up a cue stick as well.

"Let's see if I can beat your ass." Terezi joked.

"In your dreams." Karkat scoffed, wiping away tears.

"Yea? How about favour gambling?"

"Sounds good." Karkat smiled weakly.

"Alright, my go." Terezi aimed at a red ball, and it collided with a blue and yellow one, pushing them into the sockets, "beat that."

"You bet I wi-" Karkat cut himself off when he sunk the black ball. Terezi bursted out laughing.

"Oh my god Karkat, still terrible I see?"

"Shut up." Karkat scoffed, scanning the empty room.

"Look, I know it's been hard..but it was for the greater good, Karkles." Terezi slugged a arm over the boy, "how about we go through the sewer? I think I found Dave's old red cloak he made you wear in your escaping."

"Oh god Terezi don't bring back that time he was LITERALLY beaten to death."

"Then you swoop in to save your damsel in distress!"

"Haha." Karkat said jokingly, watching Terezi reach into her bag and pull out the familiar cloak, tossing it to Karkat.

"After Dave had returned from one of his battles, or at least one of his last ones due to extreme trauma, he made a will." Terezi continued, "Any and all belongings go to you."

"I was questioning what to do with his old clothes and items."

"Well, their yours now. Kanaya and I were looking into revamping this place, and turning it into a hang out. Of course, all rooms of the residents who used to reside here are kept off limits."

"Seeing some liveliness in this place might be good for everyone's well being." Karkat slugged the cloak over him and let it drape down.

"Indeed, and it'll serve also as a historical place as well. There would be tours guided by yours truly."

"The things you do for me, Terezi." Karkat practically squeezed the life out of the blind troll.

"Anything for you." //last chapter reference//

Karkat weakly chuckled, "yea..thanks a lot.."

"4/13 is now a celebrated tradition, huh?" Terezi said.

"I'm happy it is." Karkat smiled. Terezi wrapped a hand around the other trolls waist, and their hands collided as the two would ball room dance together. Terezi hummed, you are my sunshine, Karkat had joined in as the two danced.

"You are my sunshine, my only sunshine..."

Oh boy! Author made herself cry writing this epilogue. I actually sobbed grossly throughout this and tried to throw in humour. I had so many endings planned. Jake dies, Dirk moves on, Dave survives with Karkat, or even BETTER Dave AND Karkat die together in each other's arms while singing you are my sunshine. IF THIS SHIP SINKS, I AM GOING DOWN WITH IT staying true to the saying :'). There might be a alternate ending for the sake of authors sanity in which Dave is alive and he gets married to Karkat. Dirk is best man and Terezi maid of honour.  Karkat is over Dave's death and is happy now! Peace!
