//The Next Day//

Karkat sighed, sitting at his regular place at the bar. He had sparred with Terezi and he had gotten better at battling. Now, here he was sitting beside her drinking alcohol. Last night was still on his mind, and he couldn't brush it off. Terezi most likely smelled the strong taste of sorrow radiating off of him, obviously knowing something was wrong, she started up a conversation and decided prying was a bad idea.

"So, there's six more days until we under go siege on the high bloods, nervous?" Terezi asked.

"Well, I don't know what could go wrong. Honestly, I don't want to loose anyone here."

"Karkat, if there is to be justice and equality, there is to be death and loss. You can't change anything expecting to not loose anything." Terezi sounded pragmatic. This made him feel reverence towards her, but he dusted it away swiftly.

"I suppose..you're right. In the mean time I should try to keep my morals up, as well as make sure Dave heals in time. It's scary, really. If he was beaten that bad, imagine what they'd do to me." He shivered.

"Now is not the time to feel fear, Karkat. It's imperative you have strength to lead us." Terezi said. She already had strength and was telling Karkat to shape up, she sounded so intrepid.

"Yea yea, I get it." Karkat rolled his eyes, and Terezi huffed.

"What about you, Terezi? Aren't you blind?"

"Please, don't underestimate me, Karkat." Terezi frowned, feeling a miniature bit of rancorous, although it wasn't something to be worried about. Terezi hated when people thought she was vulnerable, but it was the deep satisfaction and reverence she would gain from her allies that filled her with jubilation, she loved impressing others.

"What ever you say." He drank the toxic drink in front of him. Terezi had been worried about him lately, and ironically, it worried him about her.

"Got a family, Terezi?" Karkat asked, recalling the time Terezi asked him if he had any, and refusing to talk.

"Well, trolls don't have siblings but one I considered as one died, I don't want to talk about it."

"Fine."
There was a long period of silence, until a boy who looked very shaky sat beside Karkat. He looked like he was about to have a heart attack.

"H-, hi...I'm,,,Tavros,," The troll who looked like he was in equal condition to Dave said, "I assume you're,,,Karkat?"

"Yes, I am. What do you want?" Karkat said, sounding scornful. This unsettled Tavros.

"I,,,just,, wanted to uh,, meet you..sorry!" The shivering troll bolted off and Karkat stared.

"Who was he, Terezi?" Karkat questioned.

"That was Tavros. He's a rather fickle member but tries his best. We don't put him on field, though. He works in communication. Terezi said.

"Ah..well it's his problem." Karkat crossed his arms, he wasn't about to show empathy while he needed to stay strong for the upcoming siege, Terezi stayed quiet. She knew he told him to stay strong, but not block out emotion entirely. But, she wasn't about to chastise him anytime soon. Karkat had enough worries and pressure on his shoulders to lead us all.

"Hey, Karkat?" There was a pause between Terezi's words.

"Yes?"

"Do you think it would be a good idea to point a second in command? To take off some burden?" She offered.
