he watched each day from across the hallway, pretending not to care about the boy who was slowly killing himself by not eating.
he had to pretend not to care because he had a reputation to obtain and a girlfriend who wanted him not to care for a boy who was hurting himself. he didn't want his friends knowing he was starting to care for the boy nor did he want veronica to find out, they would hold it above his head for sure, especially veronica.
troye was seated in the plastic chair, looking pale, his skin seemed cold, which it was. he didn't look the boy from the beginning of high school, he had life left in him. this boy sitting in front of jacob his hair falling out, his nails brittle along with his bones and lips chapped– he looked lifeless, almost as if all the life was slowly started to drain out him.
"eat something, please?" jacob begs his voice soft. troye shakes his head pushing his food away from him. "why is it so difficult?" jacob questions oblivious to the reason why.
troye's cerulean eyes stare up at him, "i just can't," he says his voice low, he doesn't meet eyes with jacob he stares over his shoulder trying his best not to look in his hazel eyes.
"yes you can,"
troye scoffs rolling his eyes, wondering why jacob was still bothering him in the first place.
"no i can't,"
