The Heirs

*Sixteen years ago*

"Mummy! Mummy!" Running down the many hallways of her home Luna skidded to a sudden stop.
Her mum was talking with an important figurehead of Konoha about the alliance and food imports.
"Luna honey, can't it wait?" The frustration was clear in her eyes, the warning even clearer: Do not interrupt me again!
The figurehead smiled at her not noticing the tension that hung thickly in the air.
For a moment she flashed him a smile, then turning on her heel, she started running in the opposite direction tears already beginning to fall, she flew past her uncle and father. Reaching the playground she came to a stop and sat down on a swing. Letting the tears fall freely.

Alec her big brother came looking for her after a while. "Why are you sitting here? You look like you swallowed a lemon. Not the most charming of looks, you know that?"
"Mummy told me again to leave her be." Sniffing she fixed her eyes on a patch of grass. "I just wanted to tell her that I lost my tooth! I finally pulled it out!" opening her fist he saw a little tooth. "Well, well you are growing up real fast. Before you know it you'll be an old lady!"
"I'm not an old lady you big jerk!" she tried to kick him to no avail.
"Come on let's go home before it gets dark." grabbing his hand she jumped up and walked home with him.

The servants were busy making dinner while her parents were discussing the new terms of the alliance. Alec let go of her hand and walked to the dinner table not bothering to say anything to anyone.
"Mummy look!" holding up her hand she proudly showed her the tooth.
"That's very pretty love but I'm busy now." She stared with big eyes at her mum. When she didn't react on her silent pleading she turned away and walked to her chair. Sulking.
