*Luna's POV *
Several weeks later
Pondering Minato's idea she scrubbed the dirt from her body.
Becoming part of the foundation, it will increase my fighting skills and thus my survival but I'll have to leave Alec...
Frustrated she scrubbed harder until her skin turned an angry red.
Minato had seen that everytime he and Kushina were away she became skinny and her healthy glow vanished. Worried he had sought for a solution and had found it by the foundation, she would grow up there, safe from scouts and would be less vulnerable. On top of that she would be able to bring her brother food.
Finally done with bathing in the river she climbed out and walked back home. Alec was roasting a hare already preparing for dinner.
"Finally clean again? Took you long enough." He grinned at her. "Well I didn't wanted to get all wrinkly so I had no choice but to go out."
She looked pointedly at her hands "But I guess I failed." He studied them for a moment "Jup you sure look like an old hag now!" He tapped her nose playfully. Smiling tightly at him she sat down next to him.
For a while they sat in silence, staring at the hare. Alec sighed loudly "Something on your mind sis?" He didn't look at her while saying it.
"No.. What makes you say that?" she studied his features from the corner of her eyes. "I know you, so don't lie. Just spill it." He poked the fire.
"Minato had an idea...He thought it was best if I would be placed in the foundation. They don't have anyone from our clan there and because of the way of life they have I would be safe. I could bring you food and water, make sure you're okay as well."
He turned his head to look at her knowing full wel why he couldn't go with her. "Since the last time when you were spotted everyone got in a frenzy to get to you... With me they don't have that, most of them don't even recognise me anymore."
"Do you think it's safe for you?" He reached for her hand giving it a squeeze. "If it is I want you to go."
Instantly the tears she had tried to hold back the whole day came flooding down. "I-I don't want to leave you!" she hicupped.
"Shh it's okay, all will be fine. You don't leave me really you will just be living somewhere else more secure."
