"who you texting, babe?" jacob questions his head resting on troye's lap as troye's fingers ran through his hair. he was starting to fall a sleep but he wasn't going to admit.
"no one,"
troye clicks his phone off throwing it on the coffee table beside jacob's. jacob stares up at him his eyes shining into his a knowing look on his face.
"no one my ass," he chuckles poking troye's side.
"it's no one," troye deadpans his fingers tangling between his curls. jacob pursed his lip looking up at troye from his lap.
neither spoke a word, silence coated the room. it wasn't an awful one full of tension–it was more of a friendly one shared between two friends who were trying their damn hardest to keep the term as platonic as they could.
rain rapped on the window outside, harshly beating against the glass. the wind blew fast and the sky was a musky grey. troye wouldn't be spending this rainy day with anyone else, he enjoyed his rainy days with jacob.
running his fingertips across his clothed chest absentmindedly, troye bit his lip in deep thought his thoughts consumed of the man below him. he couldn't get the thought out of his head that they never quite acted like friends would. he also couldn't escape the feeling of his lips that he missed on his. he craved his touch, he never thought he would be saying that about someone.
just friends, just friends. troye repeated to himself almost like a mantra, and if he said it enough it would be true. they weren't just friends, he knew that, and that fucking terrified him.
the ringing of troye's phone interrupted the peaceful silence between the two. groaning, he attempts to grab his phone with a sprawled out jacob on his lap.
when he got a hold of his phone, he saw sage's name flash across the screen. he quickly answers knowing she'd worry if he didn't.
the sobs on the other end startle troye, sage always being the put together mellet never usually called troye crying it was usually the other way around.
"what did he do?" troye growls, his first thought was her tears were caused from evan.
sage sobs harder, attempting to catch her breath as she lets out the choked words, "h-he did nothing,"
jacob sits up, now sitting beside troye his hand intertwined with his, "what's wrong sagey?" troye questions his thumb tracing over jacob's knuckle to calm himself a bit.
sage starts to cry again, this time unable to utter the words, her breathing fast as she left the tears fall down her face. troye was starting to worry, he couldn't read her mind but he knew it was something that was upsetting her.
