Age: 5

My one and only best friend moved to Hawaii yesterday. I was so sad because I didn't want her to leave.

Everyday I would go to her house and we would have fun tea parties with our stuffed animals. We would also have the most amazing sleepovers, cool adventures, and other things five year old besties would do.

But we can't do that anymore because she's all the way at the other side of the world. I'm all alone.

Today, mum told me that there was someone moving in Emma's house across the street. I was really excited to see who it was. Maybe I won't be all alone after all.

I put on my favourite blue dress with my white sandals and walked over to Emma's house.

There were two big guys carrying big boxes in and out of the house and I saw a little boy who looked the same age as me, running around and making action noises with his toy rocket.

I walked over to the boy and brushed the pieces of my hair out of my face. "Hi! You must be the new kid!"

He stopped running around and looked at me, "Actually, my dad sent me back here because he's going on a world tour."

I tilted my head to the side. "What's a world tour?"

"You really don't know what a world tour is?" He says shockingly.

"I'm only five!" I threw my hands in the air.

"Well, a world tour is when someone, or more people, go to different places around the world to play shows." He answers.

"Then let's go on a world tour!" I exclaim.

"You're really funny." He laughed.

"I am?"

"Yeah, you are. You're also really cool and pretty."

"Thanks! You're funny, cool, and handsome too!"

"I like you."

"I like you too, but, I don't know your name."

"Yeah, you're right! Well, my name's Luke."

"And my name's Desi. Just Desi."

"Well Desi... Friends?"

"Friends..." We both pulled each other into a hug and he then pulled away.

"So what should we do now?" Luke smiles.

"You can come over to my place and we can have milk and cookies!" I exclaim happily, taking his wrist by my hand and run to my house. "Come on Luke!"

And I know, that this is going to be the start of a new friendship.

this is a short and boring start but it's going to get better trust me. well, enjoy toddler desi and luke! see ya!
