(IMPORTANT NOTE AT THE END)
July 25, 2006
Age: 10
Today is a really hot day in England and I'm running around the house yelling, 'IT'S SO HOT' and standing right in front of the fan. I also would stick my head in the freezer once in a while. I'm not kidding.
"Desi, it's only eighty nine degrees outside." Mum tells me while wiping the kitchen table.
"Eighty nine?! But that's so close to ninety! And it's too hot for me!" I complain while running around the living room and waving my hands in the air.
"Running around will only make you more hotter and you'll sweat even more!"
"You called me hot," I snickered.
"Not in that way Desi!" Mum smiles.
I sat down on the lounge, moving the direction of the fan to face me and kicked my feet up and down in the air. I need to do something with Luke today or it's going to be one of those boring un-fun days once again.
"Hm, it looks like we're out of ice cream... And some vegetables and fruits." Mum sighs while sticking her head in the fridge.
"We're out of ice cream?!" I nearly yell.
Mum takes the ice cream box out from the freezer and opens the lid. "Yeah. It looks like you and Luke ate it all then put it back inside instead of throwing it away."
"Oh. Sorry mum." I say.
"It's okay. I'm going to do some grocery shopping anyways." Mum smiles.
"Can you buy us ice cream?!" I grin.
"Of course! What's grocery shopping without buying ice cream?"
"Yay!"
"So, are you going to come with me or not?"
"I want to stay home." I looked at the corner of the living room and found two water guns. "Oh! Can Luke and I have a water fun fight?!"
Mum tapped her finger on the counter, "Well... Since it's hot,"
"Please, please, please, please, please, please?" I beg.
"Fine." Mum sighs.
"Yes!" I pump my fist in the air then ran upstairs to put some clothes on in which I could get wet in.
I slipped on a plain white t-shirt and blue shorts then put my hair up in a pony tail.
"Okay Desi! I'm leaving now!" I hear mum call.
I ran downstairs and attacked mum with a hug, "Bye mum! Remember to get the ice cream with the strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate. What was it called again? Nea- Nepo- Nipaw-."
"Neapolitan," Mum chuckled, "Yes I know sweetie."
"Neapolitan! Yes!" I grinned, pulling away from mum.
"Okay, you two have fun now all right?" Mum smiled while patting my head.
"We will!" I exclaim happily.
Mum walks towards the door and holds onto the knob. "Okay bye!"
I pick up both of the water guns from the corner and waved back to mum. "Bye!"
The last time Luke and I had a water fight it all started when he accidentally knocked his cup of water down. It spilled all over my pants and I dumped my cup of water on top of his head. Then it went on from there. In the end Luke was the winner and we got in trouble for being soaked in water. This happened like a couple of months ago and I still need to get him back
But this time we won't get in trouble because I asked mum if we could have a water fight and we won't have to worry about things anymore.
I walked out of my house and crossed the road heading for Luke's house, then stood in front of his door. I decided not to knock because I have a whole plan in my head on how to start this war.
I placed one water gun on the doorstep and knocked on the door then quickly ran to the yard and position the gun in my hand.
The door opened and Luke came out, nearly stepping on the gun. He looked towards me with his mouth wide open.
"Game on, Hemmings."

"So how did the water fight turn out?" Mum asks while placing cups of ice cream in front of Luke and I.
"It was fun!" Luke says.
I pump my fist in the air, "I won this time!"
"And I won the first," Luke smiles.
"Winner or loser, having fun is the best part during competitions." Mum chuckles.
